Congress must not abandon disaster survivors. That’s why @repbradsherman.bsky.social and I sent a letter today pressing Speaker Johnson & Leader Thune to include, in any federal funding bill, supplemental disaster relief for California fire victims and communities across America.

In CA-28, we proudly embrace our Latino & Hispanic community. During times when they face unfair targeting, it’s especially important that we honor and recognize the countless contributions they have made to enrich and strengthen our country.

But no one should be held in these conditions with no explanation while being denied due process. We must hold ICE and Donald Trump accountable and demand humane treatment for all in custody.
I advocated continuously for his release, and I’m grateful he is finally home with his wife, the chief of medical staff at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena.
When I toured this facility with my colleagues in Congress, ICE officials tried to assure us that conditions were good. But Rami’s firsthand account tells a different story: sleeping on concrete floors, little food, no medical care.
Trump’s sabotage is slowing our economy and blocking investments in medical research, health care, infrastructure, schools, and more. That's why I'm cosponsoring the Congressional Power of the Purse Act to stop his illegal power grab and protect the investments our communities are owed.
Today marks 24 years since 9/11 — a day we lost 2,977 innocent lives to a horrendous act of terrorism.

No one deserves to be the target of gun violence, ever. What happened to Charlie Kirk is appalling, unacceptable, and I condemn it in the strongest possible terms. I am thinking of his family and loved ones at this time. We must put a stop to rising political violence in this country.
Thanks to the brilliant experts @nasajpl.bsky.social in Pasadena for making this amazing discovery of potential life on Mars possible!
But we can't know for sure unless we bring these rocks to Earth for study. I'll keep fighting to fully fund the Mars Sample Return mission to do just that.

It’s Republicans once again choosing the billionaires and big corporations over you.
Today’s flair: stopping enforcement to crack down on tax shelters.

Happy 175th Birthday, California! As a lifelong Californian, I’m proud to celebrate our Golden State. From breathtaking coastlines to towering mountains, from small towns to bustling cities, California is so special.
🚨BREAKING: @oversightdemocrats.house.gov have obtained Trump's personal note to Jeffrey Epstein’s for his 2003 “Birthday Book." Trump brazenly lied about its existence, but you deserve the truth.
What else is Trump hiding in the Epstein files? It’s time to release them unredacted.
Today, SCOTUS restored ICE's ability to stop & detain people based on nothing more than the color of their skin, the language they speak & the fact that they make a living by doing manual labor. This is racial profiling & it's a direct attack on the constitutional rights of every American.
Today marks the 60th anniversary of the Delano Grape Strike, when thousands of Filipino and Mexican farm workers in California joined together to demand better wages and labor conditions.
Let’s honor the generations who fought before us by protecting and expanding workers’ rights today.
Labor Day may be over, but the fight for workers’ rights continues. Under Trump, over 1 million workers have lost their collective bargaining rights. That’s unacceptable. Workers are the backbone of our nation & I was proud to stand with them at the Workers Over Billionaires rally.
This week I joined @popdemoc to call out Trump’s Big Ugly Law, which slashes food & education funding and kicks 15M Americans off health care—all for billionaire tax breaks. We’ll keep fighting to reverse cuts to Medicaid & the ACA so every American can get care.
Texas just passed a law allowing private citizens to sue anyone who manufactures, distributes, or provides abortion pills in or to the state for $100k. This is how Republicans are building a national abortion ban.

Trump has driven our economy into the weakest job market since his last presidency. Hiring has stalled, jobless claims are climbing, and his illegal tariffs are sending costs through the roof. Hardworking American families are paying the price. www.cnn.com/business/liv...
Yesterday, I joined the @demwomencaucus to meet with brave survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse. Their stories were horrifying. Why is President Trump demanding Republicans suppress the truth?
President Trump, this is not a “Democratic hoax.” Release ALL the Epstein files.
