Stopped by the first annual Women’s Veterans Celebration and Resource Fair hosted by the San Luis Obispo County Veterans Service Office and the VA SLO Vet Center.
It was great talking with women veterans on the Central Coast and celebrating their incredible achievements!

Stopped by the San Ysidro Pharmacy — a locally owned pharmacy that has been serving our community for over 60 years.
Grateful for their dedication to health care and their unwavering support for our neighbors!

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, I covered Trump’s Executive Order to dismantle the Department of Education—paving the way for Republicans to slash support for students, teachers, and schools.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social will fight this every step of the way.
Donald Trump's illegal order to abolish the Department of Education is a direct attack on teachers, children, & families.
This devastating action will leave thousands of teachers without jobs, increase class sizes, hurts students with disabilities, and push college & job training out of reach.
It was great meeting 24 talented individuals from SLO, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties at the UA Local 114 12th Annual Plumbers, Pipefitters, Welders, Apprenticeship Contest in Buellton. 🛠️
The Central Coast is full of diverse talent, and I'm honored to represent such a remarkable community!
Had a fantastic time at the Food Bank of Santa Barbara County South County Share House ribbon cutting!
Proud to help secure $1.5M in community project funding to make this project a reality. This is a huge step in expanding food access for our community!

Mr. President, you ran on lowering the cost of—everything—your entire campaign & now we have to “shut up” and “learn to love” you barreling us into a recession?
Egg prices through the roof, Americans losing their jobs, trade wars with our closest allies...not much to love.

The issues are clear: Trump and Musk's unchecked power, and the Republican budget cuts that will harm Veterans, families, seniors, and children alike.
I will not stop fighting to protect the Central Coast and our values.
Thank you to everyone who joined my Ventura town hall last night. My number 1 priority is listening to my constituents and urge others to do the same.
On the Central Coast, over 230,000 people rely on Medicaid and now are at risk of losing their health care because of the harmful Republican budget.
This includes:
🚫 98,975 children
🚫 24,000 seniors
Taking from those in need to give handouts to billionaires.
Rep. Lowey was a champion for New Yorkers & all Americans.
As the first woman to chair the House Appropriations Committee, she broke barriers paving the way for future leaders—her commitment to public service will continue to inspire generations for years to come.
Rest in peace, Congresswoman.
Our family is saddened—we recently lost our treasured and beloved cat Peeps.
He enriched our lives with his presence and of course his antics.
Peeps, you will be greatly missed. 🐾

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone celebrating on the Central Coast! 🍀
I will keep fighting for actions that support our communities, not hurt them.
Donald Trump and Elon Musk's mass layoffs at NOAA threatens communities on the Central Coast and across the nation — that's why my Democratic colleagues and I are demanding Secretary Lutnick address the devastating impact of these harmful cuts.
On the Central Coast, we know firsthand the destruction these fires can cause, and it was an honor to speak with the brave individuals on the front lines about how we can better support them and ensure they have the resources they need.
I joined @transportdems.bsky.social for a discussion on how we can prevent and recover from devastating wildfires.
Do you know a local woman on the Central Coast whose hard work and dedication are making a difference?
Nominate her for the 2025 Congressional Women of the Year, and let’s celebrate her contributions! ⬇️

Donald Trump and Elon Musk are putting our veterans at risk.
Recently, I met with CalVet Secretary and Undersecretary to discuss how their actions are undermining vital services for our veterans. Here in Washington, I’m fighting to protect and support our veterans on the Central Coast.
