I have seen the video of ICE’s latest shooting. It is sickening. It was an execution. The Trump Administration will undoubtedly concoct a story to justify their crimes. Do not believe them.
There’s still time to participate in my Valentines card drive for local veterans. A simple message of appreciation can brighten the day of someone who has served our nation. Please drop off your cards by February 5th and join us in honoring our veterans this Valentine’s Day.
I had the privilege of recognizing Mrs. Sondra LaPointe, a seventh-grade teacher at Westview Hills Middle School, as my Constituent Spotlight honoree. Sondra is instilling a strong educational foundation and excitement for learning in our future leaders, which our world needs now more than ever.
The Department of Homeland Security funding bill to be considered by the House today does not rein in the lawless conduct from ICE. The American people deserve better. I'm voting NO. (2/2)
Congress, having the power of the purse, has an opportunity to respond to the murder and baseless arrests of American citizens, the cruel and inhumane conditions detainees are subjected to, and the denial of due process to both citizens and non-citizens. (1/2) casten.house.gov/media/press-...
This morning, I attended arguments at the Supreme Court in the Trump Administration's case to fire Lisa Cook from the Federal Reserve. To be clear, Lisa Cook did nothing wrong, and the independence of the Federal Reserve must be maintained. But this case is about so much more than that.
Spread some love this Valentine’s Day! My office is collecting Valentine’s cards for local veterans, and we need your help to make their day special. Drop off your cards by February 5th and join us in honoring those who’ve served our country.
Donald Trump doesn’t hate clean energy; he hates energy you can actually afford. Clean energy is affordable energy. The president wants you to pay more while fossil fuels destroy your health and our planet.
After learning the Trump Admin planned to cut funding for mental health care & addiction services, I joined colleagues in furiously lobbying HHS to change course. I'm proud to see that our efforts were successful, but it's shameful that this was considered at all. www.nytimes.com/2026/01/14/h...
Alongside Sen. Dick Durbin and Sen. Tammy Duckworth, I’m pleased to announce $4M in federal funding for the College of DuPage to expand short-term, for-credit aviation and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) workforce certificates.
Second, for the City of Palos Heights, I secured $1.1 million to upgrade the 80th Avenue Pump Station, providing both Palos Heights and Northwestern Community Hospital with a dependable secondary water source. (3/3)
First, for Elmhurst University, I secured $950,000 to purchase health sciences research equipment. This funding supports students and faculty conducting important research with the potential to advance the field of health sciences and prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals. (2/3)
Congress must address Kristi Noem's failed leadership, up to and including impeachment. But that alone is insufficient. The entire chain of command who have enabled a culture of murder must face justice.
