Trump’s outrageous attacks on Zelensky are shameful to Ukrainians who’ve died for their country and allies who’ve defended democracy. Propogandists in Moscow and Beijing are celebrating that Trump, their man in Washington, is doing all their work for them—shattering US credibility everywhere. 2/3
Another claim from Putin’s man in Washington. Think how Zelensky compares to Trump’s pal, Putin—an indicted war criminal, kidnapper, and murderer of thousands of civilians, including women and children. The only dictator destroying Ukraine is Putin. 1/3
Straight from the North Korean playbook honoring its “Great Leader,” House GOP has filed a bill to make Trump's birthday a national holiday. Perhaps appropriate, since Trump is on a chaotic path to dictatorship, empowered by total House GOP subservience.
Trump eliminated nearly all funding for unbiased, nonprofit counselors assisting consumers in enrolling in health coverage, including great Austin org helping thousands of Central Texans. His first step to undermine access to a family physician for millions of Americans.
The UN fact-finding mission in Bangladesh found “rampant state violence and targeted killings” committed by former PM Sheikh Hasina in her response to student-led protests last year. India must return her to Bangladesh or seek action by the International Criminal Court for these grave crimes.
With my name on the first sanctions legislation enacted against Russia for Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, I view w/disgust the ongoing bilateral appeasement meetings. Trump is a sellout to Putin–abandoning efforts with European allies to isolate Russia while offering Ukrainians nothing but more pain.
Although Trump's freeze on federal grants has been temporarily blocked, it left many communities in limbo. Thankfully, I secured a $4.1M direct investment for the Bergstrom Spur Trail's construction before Trump’s takeover and I'll keep working to ensure we can extend the trail for all to enjoy.
Making us less safe like his firing of FBI agents, Trump diverts Homeland Security from investigating drug dealers, terrorists, human traffickers, and organized crime to mass deportation—planning to remove many who are taxpaying, hardworking residents.
Our able State Representative Vikki Goodwin and Senator Sarah Eckhardt were joined by a number of our neighbors with leadership by Idona Griffith for an Advocacy Day at the State Capitol – all about being more effective advocates for state issues of greatest importance to our families.
Planning a vacation at one of our remarkable national parks? Expect Trump chaos. Between Trump’s hiring freeze and encouraging Park Service to accept a buyout and quit, devastating and long-lasting impacts loom, here and whatever Trump-Musk touch.
Productive gathering with neighbors discussing my work in Congress opposing tyrannical Trump/Musk actions and the abandonment of the middle class in the Republican budget, which would greatly expand the national debt and cut vital services solely to provide more billionaire tax breaks.
USAID has been a crucial component of our national security strategy. This legislation follows Trump and Musk smearing young American patriots serving in difficult conditions around the world and cutting off $4 billion in vital assistance to Ukraine.
Trump said he’d lower prices, but instead eliminated the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, an agency delivering $21B back to Americans from illegal banking fees, loan sharks & more. Now, Trump wants you to report if laid off employees are still working to protect you.
My wife, Libby Doggett (not pictured), was there to cheer on these wonderful women and thank them for their help in getting Prop A passed in Travis County to help both providers and the many working families who need access to affordable child care. (2/2)
Tamitha L. Blackmon, a regional leader of the National Association for Family Child Care recognizes the wonderful work that family child care educators provide for children and families in our area.
