I’m grateful to @atg.wa.gov Nick Brown for leading a lawsuit demanding that Trump release funding that Congress already approved to keep SNAP benefits going in November so families don’t go hungry.

President Trump is making a conscious decision to withhold funding that Congress approved to keep food assistance running for 42 million Americans. The cruelty is the point.
💵 No paychecks.
🍎 No food aid.
💼 No stability.
Families shouldn’t pay the price of the Republican Shutdown. Republicans need to come back to DC & do their jobs.
Families shouldn’t go hungry while Trump & Republicans play games. If the administration doesn’t act, SNAP runs out Nov. 1. I joined my colleagues urging the release of SNAP contingency funds approved by Congress so families don’t go hungry.
Republicans need to release the SNAP funding & come to the table to end the shutdown so 42 million Americans don’t go hungry.
Outside today’s Steering & Policy hearing, I joined @momsrising.org Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner to call out Trump for withholding federal food assistance funding that Congress approved for emergencies like this.
Republican cuts are closing rural hospitals & putting lives at risk. Democrats are fighting to keep care within reach for every American.
Trump’s illegal tariffs are hitting families’ wallets. Democrats are fighting back to lower costs by urging the Supreme Court to overturn them.
Trump’s tariffs aren’t just numbers on a chart. They’re hitting Washington’s ports, workers, & small businesses hard. Fewer imports mean lost jobs & higher prices for families across our state.
Beginning Nov. 1, families in WA could lose access to Head Start because of the Republican shutdown. These programs help kids learn, grow & succeed. House Republicans need to return to DC & negotiate so families don’t lose vital services.
Congrats to the Mountlake Terrace Hawks for capturing their first-ever league title! Well done to the players, coaches, & community for this achievement.

The president & his fragile ego are hitting one of our closest allies & trading partners with more tariffs because he didn’t like a TV ad they played. American workers & businesses will pay the price for this. This is pointless.
Real leaders fight to make sure families can afford health care & put food on the table. It’s time for Republicans to stop the chaos & focus on families struggling right now.
Another critical reason why we need House Republicans to come back to DC to work to end the shutdown.
Appreciated meeting with student veterans to hear firsthand how the shutdown is disrupting their lives. Missed trainings & delayed VA benefits are causing lost pay, stalled education, & real stress for students & families.
Trump's temper tantrum over a TV ad from Canada is putting billions of dollars of commerce at risk. Over 900,000 jobs in WA rely on trade & our workers shouldn’t be caught in the middle. This is another reason why Congress needs to reclaim its role on trade & end these senseless trade wars.
Hard working Americans were already feeling the strain of rising prices. Tariffs are only making it worse by adding a tax on everyday products.
Visited the Kirkland Totem Lake WIC Clinic to hear from staff about how the Republican shutdown is impacting families in our community. WIC puts food on the table for parents & kids in need — I’ll keep fighting to reopen the government & protect these vital services.
It's been a month since Adelita Grijalva was elected & Speaker Johnson STILL refuses to swear her in because he will do anything to prevent the release of the Epstein files.
He's disenfranchising the 800,000+ Arizonans who don't have a voice in the House now.
Swear her in!
