The bill is so bad that even Elon Musk & Marjorie Taylor Greene are finding problems with it – the Senate needs to slow down and be transparent, unlike House Republicans’ late-night rush job! (2/2)
As a member of the House Gun Violence Prevention Taskforce, I know that we cannot sit idly by while the nationwide gun violence epidemic claims more lives. I’m more committed than ever to working to #EndGunViolence, making Philly and communities across America safer!
This Congress, I also introduced the Resources of Victims of Gun Violence Act alongside @markey.senate.gov.
This legislation would help all victims of gun violence – from survivors to their loved ones, coworkers, and classmates – access much needed resources.
As House Republicans slash health care coverage & SNAP benefits for millions of Americans in their #ReverseRobinHood budget, they ALSO included a tax break to make gun silencers cheaper to buy.
During the nearly 18-hour @waysmeanscmte.bsky.social markup, I denounced this handout to the gun lobby 👇
This #GunViolencePreventionMonth, while Trump and House Republicans roll back lifesaving gun-violence prevention measures, I'm standing up against their bad policies that are making our communities less safe & endangering innocent lives. 🧵

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @repbeatty.bsky.social breaks down Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill — a nightmare ripping food and care from millions. House Republicans pushed it through while you were sleeping because they don’t want you to know what’s in it.

From tariffs to regulatory rollbacks, the Trump Administration has no clue how to lower costs for working Americans — their actions do the exact opposite. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/30/u...
If you’re looking for ways to celebrate Pride Month in Philly, here’s an overview:
Happy #PrideMonth Philadelphia!
As a longtime supporter of LGBTQ+ rights, this month and every month, I’m committed to fighting Congressional Republicans’ anti-equality agenda and advocating FOR critical legislation like the Equality Act.
This month, as we celebrated 60 years of Head Start, I & @repdean.bsky.social held a news conference with parents & advocates to highlight what this vital program means to the over 26,000 children and families it serves across PA.
Congress should be working to expand Head Start, not defunding it!
As Mark Marcantano writes for @inquirer.com: "These [are]...children receiving chemotherapy, managing chronic conditions, recovering from surgery, or simply getting a well-child checkup."
This is the care that's at stake as Congressional Republicans push for the largest cut to Medicaid in history.

As a longtime supporter of labor, I strongly support the PRO Act in Congress, which would protect workers’ right to organize and bargain collectively. (2/2)
I was proud to stand with Philadelphia Whole Foods workers and @ufcwlocal1776.bsky.social at today’s rally.
I know that when our unions are strong, our city is strong! (1/2)
The initial court rulings are a victory for hard-working families suffering under Trump’s chaotic, illegal tariff scheme- but we can & should NOT stop here.
House Democrats have introduced legislation to #TakeHisKeys & reclaim Congress' constitutional tariff authority- will House Republicans join?

Trump cares more about celebrities convicted of tax fraud than Americans who rely on Medicaid and SNAP.
As the childhood hunger crisis worsens in Philly and beyond, we need to invest more into programs like SNAP - not less.
Yet, Trump and Congressional Republicans’ #BigUglyBill cuts billions from this program, stealing from the working class just to give MORE tax cuts to their billionaire buddies.

Why aren’t Vietnam veterans being honored this year at their own memorial, for the first time in three decades?
Because Donald Trump is using the space to throw himself a birthday parade instead. www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...
