I'm deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Congressman Sylvester Turner.
Congressman Turner devoted his life to public service and the City of Houston. His dedication to our country will not be forgotten, and my thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.
Since taking office, Trump has prioritized appeasing Putin and billionaires over the American people at every turn. Tonight's address was more of the same.
My full statement ⤵️
I refuse to give Trump an audience to spew his lies & will be boycotting tonight's Joint Address. (2/2)

Trump's presidency has been extremely alarming—we've seen rising grocery costs, attempts to slash Medicare, mass firings of critical workers by Musk, & the White House abandoning our democratic allies. (1/2)
It was great meeting @durhamcounty.bsky.social to discuss Durham’s continued growth and development.
Thank you for all the work that you do to support our community, and I look forward to continuing our work together to support residents of Durham County.

During Women's History Month, we celebrate the courageous women who have built, strengthened, and inspired our country.

It is my honor to be your partner in Congress, and I’m grateful for your steadfast advocacy and continued support for our Hispanic community in the Triangle region.
The United States must stand up for freedom and democracy, and we must show our unwavering support to Ukraine as it continues to defend its sovereignty against Putin’s aggression. (2/2)
It is absolutely shameful for President Trump and Vice President Vance to treat our democratic ally with such utter disrespect and disregard, all in order to seek favor with Vladimir Putin. (1/2)
As #BlackHistoryMonth comes to a close, I spoke on the House Floor to celebrate the rich contributions of Black Americans to our country, and the value of DEI initiatives and HBCUs.
This month is an important reminder of our resiliency, and what we have overcome & can achieve.

In my first hearing as Ranking Member of the Space Subcommittee, I stood with NASA’s workforce & vowed not to stand for handing the keys to lunar exploration to China. youtu.be/iTUSHJNi2xw
I joined my Democrat Science Committee colleagues on the House floor to tell some of the stories we are hearing from federal workers who’ve been fired by President Trump and Elon Musk.
These people were carrying out critical work, and their stories matter. #sciencefirings
