There’s just under 2 weeks left to submit your application to my office for the Congressional App Challenge! The apps students have created in the past have been creative and inspiring, and I have no doubt this year will bring more of the same creativity.
Today marks the 53rd anniversary of the passage of the Clean Water Act. Every American deserves access to clean water, free of lead and forever chemicals. I’ll continue defending our natural resources for all our children and families.
Today is National Mammography Day, which serves as an important reminder for high-risk women to get their routine mammogram. As a breast cancer survivor, these are key to early detection and treatment.
Medicaid/Medi-Cal supports Californians living with disabilities & gives them the chance to get the medical support they need while living independently in their communities. But Republicans think that support should be “optional”. I couldn’t disagree more.
While House Republicans walk off their job and refuse to return to DC, I showed up for mine.   Yesterday, I gave a tour of the Capitol to more than 80 brilliant students from across Los Angeles. (1/2)
In the United States, 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer at some point in their lives, as will some men. As a breast cancer survivor serving in Congress, I’m always advocating for federal resources for cancer research. So much progress has been made in battling this disease, with more to come!
It’s a new work day in D.C. for everyone but Republicans, who are still refusing to come to the negotiating table to protect your healthcare. America, you deserve better. I’m fighting to make sure Republicans hear your concerns loud and clear, so that you can keep your care.
Trump is hurting America when he disinvests in science. Those investments have led to a stronger economy and American technological dominance. Trump is risking our nation through his disinvestment and privatization of NASA and our national labs. (3/3)
JPL has inspired generations by landing rovers on Mars, advancing our understanding of climate change, and driven technologies we rely on every day, like GPS and medical imaging. (2/3)
Now we have to stay focused. The ceasefire must hold. Humanitarian aid must keep flowing into Gaza. And we need a real plan to rebuild both the infrastructure and governance of Gaza so that Palestinians and Israelis can share a future rooted in peace and stability.
After two long years, every living hostage is finally free and back where they belong — with their loved ones. I can’t begin to imagine the pain and suffering they’ve endured.
Today, we honor and celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day and the countless contributions of Indigenous communities in Los Angeles and across our nation. Did you know that my district has one of the most significant collections of Indigenous art right here in the Autry Museum?
Day 9 of the Republican Shutdown, and Speaker Johnson just canceled next week's votes.    While they’re on vacation, millions of Americans are left wondering if they’ll be able to afford healthcare. I’m heading to D.C. next week to work. House Republicans should too.
Another town hall in the books! Thanks to East Valley Indivisibles for hosting. It was great answering questions directly from LA families with Rep. Brad Sherman. This is exactly what democracy looks and sounds like.
