The Maryland Delegation & I are proud to announce $60M for WMATA's bus transit & to support a new transit maintenance & operations facility in MD-05's Charles County. Team Maryland will continue to invest in public transportation to support our communities & keep our region’s economy moving forward.
My friend @velazquez.house.gov’s impact extends beyond Congress to the #NY07 community & our nation. It’s been an honor to work with her to advance a sensible solution to the perennial question facing Puerto Rico: its political status. I look forward to our work together in the months to come.
The September Jobs Report — which was released 7 weeks late due to the Republican shutdown — does little to dispel the job market's weak showing this past summer.
Trump's policies continue to diminish job creation, increase costs for working families, and generate economic uncertainty.
The Chesapeake Bay is the beating heart of MD as it’s central to our state geographically, economically & culturally. It is critical that we reach the full potential of federal support for the Bay & its watershed.
Team MD will keep working to restore the Bay & create a healthy watershed for all.
My full statement in response to Trump's comments on the murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi:

Republican leadership made many attempts to quash our efforts, but the survivors of Epstein's sex crimes deserve justice & the public deserves the truth.
I am deeply moved by the strength of the survivors, & I will continue to stand with them as we call on the Admin to release the Epstein Files.
At the core of this Republican shutdown was the false premise that Congress could either reopen the government or provide for the health of the American people. Instead, the GOP told the American people: you’re on your own. Read my full statement:

We owe our freedom, security, and all the opportunities our democracy offers to the men & women who risked their lives on our nation's behalf.
On Veterans Day & every day, let us salute their bravery and honor their courage with our work to take care of them long after their service to our country.
During the most turbulent times, every American must be able to access critical information from the government.
I applaud Judge Ali's order for the White House to implement this very reasonable accommodation. We must keep working to ensure every aspect of life is inclusive & accessible for all.
I was glad to join educators & elected officials in MD to celebrate 25 years of Judy Centers in our state. My late wife, Judy, would have been so proud of all that we have accomplished since the first center opened. It is an honor to continue her mission to boost school readiness in our communities.
The IRS Direct File program gave thousands of Americans across 25 states a free, fast, and easy way to pay their taxes.
The Trump Admin knew it was a success but decided to end Direct File because they do not want government to work, even if it can save Americans time and money.
Greenbelt, MD was selected as the most suitable site for the new FBI headquarters through a thorough & transparent process.
Team Maryland will keep fighting against Trump's unlawful plan to abandon the project and move the agency to the 30-year-old Reagan Building.

The Trump Admin is undermining the FBI’s vital law enforcement & national security mission by continuing to deprive it of a secure, consolidated facility. I commend AG Brown & County Executive Braveboy for their leadership in holding the admin accountable for trying to abandon the Greenbelt project.
My friend @pelosi.house.gov's leadership has impacted the lives of every American.
With a political mind of the highest caliber, she will be remembered as one of the most effective Speakers. Her departure will be a tremendous loss for our Congress & country. I wish Nancy & her family all the best.
My full statement regarding the return of the body of Itay Chen to Israel:

The Army Corps’s projects in MD are vital to the safety of our state's coastal communities & strength of our economy. The MD Delegation calls on the admin to provide information on the projects that will be impacted by the announcement to pause critical this funding.
