Honored to be presented with the Paralyzed Veterans of America's Gordon H. Mansfield Congressional Leadership Award by Carl Blake and Robert Thomas, whose leadership has transformed the lives of veterans that live with disabilities following their service to our country.
I was glad to celebrate the #MD05 students who received appointments to a U.S. Service Academy this year at our Academy Tea.
These students exhibit great character, and I'm thankful to their families for raising such bright leaders. I wish these students much luck in their military service.
Instead of working with Democrats to strengthen Social Security, Trump and DOGE continue their efforts to dismantle and privatize this vital program in order to give tax breaks to the wealthy.
Congress must act now to protect Americans' hard-earned benefits and ensure they can retire with dignity.
Once again, Republicans jammed through a partisan reconciliation bill that gives another $70B to ICE & CBP without any oversight or reforms that protect our citizens and communities.
Democrats stand against Trump's reckless policies and continue to hold the Administration accountable.
Instead of working on a bill that helps Americans access health care, education & employment opportunities, Republicans aim to disinvest in key programs & leave hardworking families on their own. Watch @democrats-appropriations.house.gov fight to restore critical investments for the American people:
I was honored to attend the annual John & Lillian Miles Lewis Foundation’s Good Trouble Gala.
My brother John inspired me & many others to make 'Good Trouble' to align our nation's policies with its principles. I will keep working to protect the victories he helped achieve.
I thank Ranking Member @meeks.house.gov and my colleagues for their partnership in this bipartisan effort. The Senate must follow the House and act quickly to assist Ukrainians as they continue to push ahead toward victory.

The House passage of the Ukraine Support Act was a victory for Ukraine, the United States, freedom, and international law.
Serving the people of #MD05 in Congress has been the honor of a lifetime. I’m proud of all we've accomplished, from making critical investments in Southern Maryland to fighting for civil rights & democracy at home & abroad. I look forward to continuing my work through the end of the 119th Congress.
I was proud to host the annual Educators Luncheon to honor our outstanding #MD05 teachers and support staff.
Educators continue to face many challenges with grace and resilience. I'll keep fighting to ensure they have the resources to support our students' success within and beyond the classroom.

Now more than ever, we should be investing in affordable housing and energy, clean air and water, & transportation systems to support our communities.
Yet Republicans continue to cut funding for these key priorities and support policies that raise the cost of living for hardworking Americans.
I'm proud to announce over $1.3M in funding for Maryland crime labs and police departments to increase their DNA processing capacity.
Team Maryland will keep working to provide federal investments to help tear down roadblocks to solving crime & produce accurate, timely results for our communities.
On Memorial Day, we remember the courageous men & women in uniform who gave their lives to defend our nation.
We must continue to stand up for our democracy with the same devotion displayed by the heroes we honor today.
May God continue to bless our troops, veterans, the fallen, & their families.
Republicans are ripping health care from millions and driving up the cost of living to support Trump’s tariffs, war, gilded ballroom, and now a $1.8 billion slush fund for his friends.
As Americans struggle in Trump's failing economy, Democrats are fighting to lower costs for everyone.
Trump said he wanted to 'drain the swamp.' Instead, he has filled the sewer with corruption, cronyism, conflict, and chaos while taking a chainsaw to the Constitution.
I will continue to fight to hold the President accountable and call out his Republican majority for being complicit in his schemes.
Our brave officers deserve better. I'm glad to join Rep. Walkinshaw to introduce legislation that would help Capitol Police build better financial futures so they can keep Members, staff, visitors, and Congress itself safe.

USCP is understaffed, yet it's difficult to recruit and retain officers when other agencies offer more competitive pay and benefits.
The Constitution clearly states: Congress enacts laws, and the Executive Branch enforces.
Those who truly care about our democracy would not stand by silently as the President bypasses the authority of Congress to the detriment of our country.
