Two years ago, the Maui wildfires robbed our community of lives, homes, and peace of mind. Today, we came together on Maui to honor those lost and celebrate the power of community to get us through dark times as we continue on the road of recovery.
Republicans' big ugly bill is going to wreak havoc on Medicaid & millions of Americans who rely on it. This week, I sat down with health care leaders to discuss the importance of Medicaid in Hawaii & how we can work together to combat the effects of this heartless bill.
As a member of the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee, I am proud to support our nation’s veterans. Our country owes so much to those who have died or been wounded in combat. Today, on National Purple Heart Day, may we continue to honor the heroes who served for the U.S. & their selfless sacrifice.
During this first week back to school, I started today by speaking with hardworking teachers and administrators at Shafter Elementary.    We need to do everything we can to ensure Hawaii public schools have the resources they need for our students to succeed.
Purple Heart veteran Sae Joon Park was forced to self-deport after years of complying with ICE orders.   @blumenthal.senate.gov & I wrote to Secretary Noem to denounce Mr. Park’s treatment and demand answers.
Yesterday, I had lunch with our interns & got to hear about their interests & perspectives on politics. Because of this group, I know our future is in great hands. Today's National Intern Day goes out to them - thanks for all you do!
Republicans would rather Americans suffer in sickness than ensure access to affordable coverage. All to line the pockets of billionaires. On the 60th anniversary of Medicaid & Medicaid, as they wage war on these programs, I'll keep fighting to protect the care Americans rely on.
Last weekend, my office's team, the "Loco Mocos" placed in the top 8 of the U.S. Senate Softball League! Now I can officially confirm they get the job done on the field and in the office! Congrats, team! 👏🥎
For 60 years, Medicaid has provided Americans with access to affordable health care nationwide.    But when Republicans voted for the Big Ugly Bill, they stripped millions of their coverage, putting the health and lives of Americans across Hawaii & the U.S. at risk.
Because of tariffs, families are paying more for essential back-to-school supplies at a time when Republicans are actively working to defund education programs in our country. This is what education looks like in Trump’s America: Higher costs for hardworking families.
Republicans turned their back on Americans when they voted for the Big Ugly Bill. Everyday costs will continue to rise, millions will lose access to health care, and energy bills will skyrocket. All so their billionaire buddies could pay less in taxes. It’s shameful.
To put it simply: We have a regime focused on eliminating federal support for public education in the U.S. This administration has canceled grants, withheld funds, fired staff, & is proposing cuts to essential programs students rely on. It’s chaos. Students deserve better.
Americans didn’t vote for higher energy bills, higher taxes, and increased costs of everyday goods.    But thanks to Republicans, the Big Ugly Bill will make those nightmares a reality.
