Today, I voted to table an impeachment resolution. I will always be straight with you, so let me explain. My position on the strikes in Iran has been clear. My constituents, regardless of party, do not want to send their children or their tax dollars to another forever war in the Middle East. [1/2]
3 years ago, the Supreme Court stripped away a constitutional right with Dobbs. Since then, lawmakers have inserted themselves into our medical decisions. Healthcare is between a doctor and a patient. The government has no place in these decisions—period.
Workers should be making the decisions about AI in their workplace, not big tech CEOs. We urge the Senate to remove the reckless provision in the budget bill that would ban states from passing or enforcing AI laws that protect workers for the next decade.
This administration's immigration policy is clear: target anyone who has brown skin. The cruelty isn't just the point, it's the plan. I will continue to stand with our immigrant communities & do my part to equip them with resources & information to protect against these racist policies.
Trump is acting fully outside of his authority and is once again trampling on the Constitution. This is an illegal and terrifying escalation. Dropping bombs on Iran brings us closer to war and he is putting millions of lives at stake. Congress must pass our War Powers Resolution to rein him in.
President Trump's unilateral decision to strike Iran is blatantly unconstitutional. There's a reason why the Founders only gave Congress the power to declare war. The American people deserve a say in whether or not their children get sent into another foreign war. Read my full statement:
If you or the person you know is a resident of Oregon's 4th Congressional District, please also contact our office and notify us once you have completed all relevant instructions on the State Department's website. Our team will follow up and provide guidance, as requested.
The American people must get a say in if we send their kids, family & friends to fight in another foreign war. That's why the Founders only gave Congress the power to declare war. This week, I joined @khanna.house.gov & Rep. Massie to stop our involvement in another war without a vote by Congress.
On the 160th anniversary of #Juneteenth, America’s unions celebrate and commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. We’ll continue organizing in the streets and in the halls of power to fight for civil rights and economic justice for all workers.
Juneteenth. Freedom Day | AFL-CIO
#Juneteenth is a celebration of #BlackHistory and freedom, born from struggle and resilience. Black Americans have led that fight for generations. Today, as threats grow louder, we honor the strength of Black Americans & lift up our members who keep fighting for freedom for all.
In a political climate full of racism & bigotry, #Juneteenth reminds us that change is only possible when we are uncompromising in our values. The abolition & liberation movement reminds us that when you're on the right side of history, you don't compromise on your values; you fight like hell.
The budget bill that the Senate is considering would be a nightmare for working families. It would throw 16 MILLION people off their health care, likely close 338 hospitals and cut SNAP food assistance for 2 million kids. Working people say hell no!
