Honored to join today’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s- an emotional and powerful event that hits close to home. I lost my father to Alzheimer’s & I carry that with me everyday.Thank you to the Alzheimer’s Association & everyone who came out. Your commitment gives families hope. Keep up the good work.
On #NationalTradesmenDay, I'm taking a moment to recognize the incredible trades workers who build and maintain our communities. You are the backbone of our country. Thank you for everything you do!
We refuse to stand idly by as this administration, with the stroke of a pen, takes away good-paying union jobs from workers. We took over the House floor to call out Trump’s anti-jobs agenda and stand with workers✊
Are you a student or know of one that has a strong academic record, leadership skills, and a desire to serve our country? Consider submitting your application for the Service Academy. Deadline: September 30 🔗Apply Now: ivey.house.gov/services/mil...

As someone who’s served as both a federal prosecutor in DC and as Prince George’s County State’s Attorney, I know firsthand what works to keep communities safe. The crime bills that the House passed yesterday don’t do that.
Federal jobs in Public Health are vital to families & communities across my district. I lost my father to Alzheimer’s disease, so I know personally how essential research, prevention, & care are. These jobs strengthen our local economy & support families while driving innovation that saves lives.
Political violence is rising, school shootings remain a constant threat, and no community feels truly safe—not even in church. Easy access to guns and online radicalization are fueling fear and deepening our mental health crisis. We need bipartisan action now, before more lives are lost.
Happy #HispanicHeritageMonth! I’m honored to join our Hispanic and Latino neighbors across Maryland’s Fourth District in celebrating your vibrant culture, rich traditions, and invaluable contributions to our shared history. A special shoutout to Hispanic-owned restaurants in MD-04.
Glad to join Jorge Schneider, CEO of Ion Storage Systems & Dr. Pat O’Shea of UMD at Ion’s state-of-the-art facility in Beltsville. Their cutting-edge solid-state battery work shows how academic, private, and federal partners can drive U.S. energy innovation and strengthen national security.
President Trump says he “solved inflation.” The truth? Prices are still rising—and his own tariffs are driving them higher. Families are paying more for everyday goods while core inflation stays above target. Americans deserve real solutions, not political soundbites. www.cnn.com/2025/09/12/b...
I had to set the record straight with Republicans on the House Appropriations committee. Contrary to their claims, Trump’s Supreme Court upheld the Biden‑administration’s rule regulating ghost guns under the Gun Control Act. There is simply no reason that Ghost guns should be legal.
Republicans are waging the biggest attack on healthcare in our nation’s history. In Maryland alone, over 247,000 people with ACA coverage will see their premiums jump by an average of 17% if subsidies expire. At a time when costs are already crushing households, this is unacceptable.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social are pushing for a funding deal that protects programs that working Americans depend on—no shutdown, no drama. It’s time Republicans step up. Fund the government responsibly—or face the backlash of a shutdown on their watch.
