Some good news! A judge ruled against Trump’s outrageous $100,000 fee for H-1B visas, which help to bring highly skilled immigrant workers to America.
It’s an important step in the right direction that this ridiculous financial burden was ruled unlawful.
50 people have died in detention since Trump returned to office. And tens of thousands more are languishing in these facilities each night, living under horrific conditions and medical neglect.
We cannot allow another cent to go to these for profit, immigration prisons.
Republicans want to give an additional $70 BILLION to ICE and CBP, with no guardrails, oversight, or constraints.
The American people do not want to see their neighbors being terrorized and killed in our streets at the hands of these agencies.
Yesterday, I was notified of the 50th death in ICE custody since Trump returned to office.
This is unprecedented and further proof that ICE and their private, for-profit prison contractors should not be sent another cent of taxpayer dollars. There must be accountability.
SEATTLE: We are just 8 days away from our city’s first World Cup match.
Thousands of fans will be coming to our beautiful city for these six matches. During this time, stay up to date on FEMA and transit resources to stay safe and manage your commutes.
Trump is restricting funding for homelessness prevention. This is a ridiculous and cruel reversal that will mean more people living unhoused in our communities. https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/homeless/new-hud-rules-put-26m-of-king-countys-homelessness-funding-at-risk/
Ocean observatories are a critical resource for studying climate change and detecting disasters like earthquakes and tsunamis.
Trump is erasing years of innovation and advancement.

If you work over 40 hours, you should be getting paid double for overtime.
That’s why @repcasar.bsky.social and I will be introducing a bill to ensure that workers stop getting overworked and underpaid.

I am so grateful to live in and represent a city that is full of pride, love, and joy 🏳️🌈

One year ago, I was proud to co-lead the introduction of the Block the Bombs Act with @ramirez.house.gov.
Since then, we’ve seen a growing coalition calling for an end to the US’s complicity in the genocide of the Palestinian people.
Our message today remains the same: Block. The. Bombs.
This is a BIG win. A judge has now reaffirmed that Trump’s freeze on processing immigration applications for 39 countries is illegal and that processing must restart immediately.
Today’s ruling is not the end of the fight, but it is a major step in the right direction.

It’s time to stop blaming trans people for Republican failures.
I met with Pam Bondi and Todd Blanche after the Bondi hearing. It was and still is abundantly clear that Blanche is still acting as Trump’s personal attorney.
Someone who covers up for predators should not head the Department of Justice.
DHS must immediately withdraw funding from Winn Correctional Center and every detention center that does not meet minimum required standards.
Congress must pass my Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act.
Bill Pulte weaponized his position to go after Trump’s political opponents. He is unqualified to be Acting Director of National Intelligence.
As Congress prepares to vote again on FISA Section 702, we must end Trump and Pulte’s ability to spy on Americans without a warrant.
Today’s War Powers Resolution PASSED 215-208 in the House. If I were able to be present for the vote, I would have voted yes.
Full statement:
This is what happens when MAGA billionaires like David Ellison take over the media. And it’s why the Trump administration is so eager for Ellison to control Warner Bros.
Now, CBS and 60 Minutes. Next, Warner Bros and CNN.
Corrupt corporate consolidation must be stopped.
USAID used to trace and treat Ebola outbreaks.
But Trump shut it down. And now we’re seeing people die as the Ebola outbreak intensifies.
Global health involves all of us — it’s about saving lives and stopping the spread of diseases. Republicans stopped this critical work.
