Patty and her friend Brandon, both US citizens, went to observe ICE activity — something they are legally entitled to do — only to be pepper-sprayed, demeaned, and thrown into an ICE facility. Listen to Patty’s story:
As this administration continues to send masked agents to terrorize our cities, I will not vote to give another cent to ICE and CBP until we have real, enforceable guardrails in place. My full statement on the DHS funding bill ⬇️
If Republicans continue refusing to conduct any oversight of Trump, Democrats will. We’ll keep investigating ICE’s abuses of power. We’ll keep holding hearings to give impacted people a platform. And we’ll keep speaking out and fighting for accountability and justice.
The people of Minnesota have been nothing but peaceful in their resistance. But Trump wants to paint them as violent so his administration can continue its assault on their communities. The violence is coming directly from ICE and CBP.
When Democrats regain power in Congress, we must take on ICE and Border Patrol’s abuses of power. The immigration system is civil, yet Trump is treating it as a criminal one and locking up tens of thousands of people. It is not just and we will not let it stand.
The other day, Kristi Noem was on CNN and said, “We can’t trust our government anymore.” She IS the government, and she is LYING to our faces. Kristi Noem needs to come testify before the Judiciary Committee immediately — we need accountability.
Courage comes in times of fear. Strength comes in times of crisis. What I’ve seen in Minnesota and across America is people coming together, showing that courage and strength in their communities, and standing up to ICE and this authoritarian administration. We will not lose hope.
Mubashir and his family came to the United States as refugees from Ethiopia when he was a child, and they all became naturalized citizens in 2019. Despite being a U.S. citizen, Mubashir was targeted by ICE, assaulted, and detained. Listen to his story:
Trump’s ICE and Border Patrol are violating Americans’ Constitutional rights — smashing car windows and battering down doors without proper warrants. Deepinder Mayell of @aclumn.bsky.social explains how they are breaking the law.
After my accountability hearing in MN, we visited Renee Good’s memorial. It was so powerful to bear witness to the strength and resilience of the community in the Twin Cities — even through incredible grief. We will continue to fight for justice in her memory.
Patty, a U.S. citizen, was detained by ICE for 9 hours. Her friend Brandon, also a citizen, was interrogated by agents as they attempted to bribe him to give them names of undocumented individuals or protest organizers. This is absolutely outrageous behavior.
“We are ground zero for Trump’s war on America — a war on our democracy, on our freedoms, and our rights as Americans. It is in our backyard today, & it is only a matter of time before it is in yours.” Listen to @cityofsaintpaul.bsky.social Mayor Kaohly Her talk about what ICE has done to her city.
“Thus far in 2026, we have only had 4 shootings. 2 of them were ICE… It is clear that the practices that ICE is using are unconstitutional. They are not methodical. They are not well-planned out.” @mayorjacobfrey.bsky.social on the violence ICE has inflicted on his city. Listen to his testimony
