Joined Toledo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Romules Durant to showcase the $11 Million reinvestment completed at the Aerospace & Natural Science Academy. This will allow students to specialize and learn skills not taught elsewhere to prepare them for future scientific careers.
Over the past year I have helped bring hundreds of Millions of dollars in investment home to Northwest Ohio and our 9th District. Working with elected officials from both parties, we’re delivering major wins for our region.
Rate payers deserve more for FirstEnergy’s corruption and malfeasance from elected officials down in Columbus. A real criminal investigation would root out the graft and corruption that took place. The worst crime in Ohio history should be treated as such.
Beautiful Sunday evening spent at the Family House Festival with the Optimist Club. Thanks to Flowers Bakery for the donated baked goods. Always good to spend time with members of our community who are giving back.
Wonderful to celebrate the Festival of India with so many from across NW Ohio. Thank you to The Hindu Temple of Toledo for the warm welcome as you mark 35 years since you first opened your doors. Cheers to the next 35 years and many more community celebrations to come—Dhanyavaad!
2 years since the #PACTAct became law I am reflecting on the hard fought efforts to champion this vital legislation alongside my constituent Susan Zeier to honor her son-in-law Heath Robinson. It has now helped over 1.1 Million American veterans and their survivors. #2YearsofPACT
NW Ohio toasts our own Erik Kynard who’s in Paris at the Olympics to finally receive the #Gold he earned in 2012. His perseverance and dedication are an inspiration to all — not just in NW Ohio, but across our country, and around the globe. #ToledoProud
The University of Toledo will receive a major award to study environmental impacts on health. This investment reinforces our commitment to advancing scientific understanding that can lead to better health outcomes for our NW Ohio community and beyond.
More than 109,000 Ohio families are seeing big savings on home energy costs thanks to the #InflationReductionAct! With more than $150 Million in clean energy tax credits, we’re lowering energy bills, boosting efficiency, and building a sustainable future for all.
It’s 2024 and mom's make 71 cents on the dollar compared to dad's, with even larger gaps for mother's of color. On this #MomsEqualPayDay, I am joining my colleagues in the Democratic Women's Caucus as we continue to fight for equal pay for moms across NW Ohio and throughout our country.
Excited for the upcoming National Night Out events across NW Ohio! Let’s celebrate partnerships that support safe neighborhoods.
Find a participating event near you at natw.org/about/#map and let’s continue to make our communities safer together.
Today marks the 59th Anniversary of President Lyndon B. Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965 into law. This pivotal moment in our nation's history assured that every American can exercise their sacred right to vote. We must always fight to defend this essential freedom.
This week we celebrate #NationalHealthCenterWeek. From primary care, to substance use treatment, and social services, community health centers treat the whole person. Receiving care in your community is essential. People deserve services and care that meets them where they are.
Happy to announce that the Northwood Fire and Rescue Department has been awarded a SAFER grant. This funding will support three new full-time firefighters, ensuring our community's safety with a continuous presence of dedicated fire and EMS personnel. Always an honor to support our first responders.
Earlier this week we lost legendary Toledo Mud Hens radio broadcaster Jim Weber, who called 6,395 consecutive games across 49 seasons. His life and legacy left an impact that reverberated across Toledo and NW Ohio for generations. May you Rest In Peace Jim.
The Toledo Jeep Fest and the Jeep Parade are a treasured tradition. Glad to see UAW President Shawn Fain and so many others from NW Ohio and across the country that came out to celebrate everything Jeep.
The way Team USA Gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik honors his “dziadziu,” reminds me of many Polish-American veterans in my family, including my uncles who bravely fought for Liberty and freedom for all during WWII. Good luck to Stephen as he competes tomorrow for another Olympic medal!
Tens of thousands of NW Ohioans and people from across the country will be out tomorrow for the Toledo Jeep Fest. This historic WWII Era restored Jeep and hundreds of exhibits and classic Jeeps are on the menu for a fun filled weekend in NW Ohio.
Hopeful that Evan and Paul will be freed and reunited with their families. We must continue to work so that all falsely imprisoned by Vladimir Putin’s Russian state can safely return home.
