If the Epstein files are a “hoax,” as you claim, President Trump… then what’s the holdup? Release them. Let the American people see for themselves. Transparency shouldn’t be a threat—unless there’s something to hide.
President Trump's "Big Ugly Law" slashes Medicaid, Medicare & food aid. I'm fighting like hell to protect them all. Come to my Town Hall; hear my thoughts, ask me questions and learn more.
Trump’s “Big Ugly Law” slashes $1T from Medicaid & cuts food aid to help billionaires. These decisions hurt people—and I’m here to talk about how I’m protecting you. Join me & @acluillinois.bsky.social’s Ed Yohnka for my town hall: www.eventbrite.com/e/town-hall-...
What a week for infrastructure! 🛠️ Kicked it off in Glenwood with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers celebrating a new stormwater project, then headed to Matteson for a critical water main groundbreaking.
Once again Secretary Kennedy is ignoring science. mRNA vaccines have saved millions of lives. Canceling this critical research is a public health & national security issue. mRNA technology is vital for breakthroughs in cancer, infectious diseases, and biodefense.
The Trump administration is terminating 22 contracts focused on developing mRNA vaccines and winding down additional federal investments in mRNA technology, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced.
The administration's cuts to the VA and hiring freezes are an insult to those who served. Laying off thousands of veteran federal workers is a betrayal. Our heroes deserve our full support, not these undignified and disrespectful attacks. We must do better for our vets.
Joined the Chicago Urban League at their back to school festival this last weekend. There’s nothing like seeing our young people smiling, learning, and getting the tools they need to succeed. Wishing every student a strong, safe, and impactful year ahead! 🎒📚✨
I toured Farm2Veteran yesterday & saw their incredible work firsthand: over 250,000 meals provided to veterans. The demand for their services will only grow as the cost of living keeps rising. We have an obligation to ensure veterans aren't left behind.
President Trump’s Big Ugly Law and his cuts to Medicaid and Medicare are exacerbating the healthcare crisis in Illinois, threatening hospitals and patients. He’s making it difficult for hardworking Americans to receive the essential care they need.
The GAO has confirmed that Donald Trump illegally diverted NIH research funds, stealing from critical public health projects. Congress must now reaffirm lifesaving work and restore this vital funding.
60 years ago today, we passed the Voting Rights Act, a hard-won victory for our civil rights and a cornerstone of our democracy. Thanks to those who fought for our voting rights as we still defend them today.
This past weekend, I had the opportunity to celebrate 30 years of sisterhood at The Black Women's Expo in Chicago! From the Ribbon Cutting to my “Where do we go from here” Panel & touring the exhibit hall, it was great spending time with you all. I am fighting like hell for each of us.
As a fellow Illinoisan and colleague, I stand in support of @ramirez.house.gov. We should be celebrating, not attacking, the rich, diverse heritage that strengthens our nation. Rep. Ramirez works hard every day for her constituents. Thank you for your leadership and public service.
Honoring my Guatemalan ancestry only strengthens my commitment to America. That is the truth I carry with me always. And it is a truth that many Americans carry with them. Anyone who denies our claim on this country only exposes how fragile and small-minded their own idea of America really is.
Happy birthday, @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social! Thank you for your leadership of @housedemocrats.bsky.social, ensuring that people are put over politics, like expanding access to health care and fighting for equity daily! Grateful to stand with you in this work!
