Daniel deserves better than to be unjustly terminated–by the country he risked his life to protect. Our veterans served by the Palo Alto VA deserve better, too.
Now, Daniel is one of thousands of federal employees unjustly terminated as a result of Trump’s unlawful dismantling of the federal workforce.
I’ll be there with a special guest: Daniel Sandecki, a veteran with 10 years of active-duty service who also –and most recently–served our community as a VA Palo Alto Health Care System employee.
Tomorrow, Donald J. Trump delivers his first Joint Session Address of this term, and he’ll look out to an audience full of people who’ve suffered from his illegal executive disorders. 🧵
Our community conversations continue on Sunday, March 9th, at Mountain View High School Gymnasium from 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM. Last Friday’s town hall filled the auditorium, so please RSVP for our next in-person town hall here:
As I shared with KGO-TV, Trump’s staged bullying of Zelenskyy covers for a cowardly appeasement of a Russian dictator. Our Greatest Generation taught us to stand up with our longstanding allies to protect Democracy under attack – Ike, JFK, and FDR are rolling in their graves today.
Thank you to the 400 neighbors who joined our town hall meeting. Your voices, ideas, and engagement strengthen our community.
We’ll gather again on March 9th — more details will be available in my newsletter.

Ramadan Mubarak to all of our Muslim community members. In a deeply discordant moment, I pray that this holy month brings a renewed sense of faith, hope, and peace.
History will not forgive us for appeasing Putin — not only for betraying the Ukrainian people and our strongest allies but for betraying our deepest-held values as Americans. (2/2)

This moment has Eisenhower and Reagan rolling in their graves at the sight of an American president feebly prostrating himself upon the altar of a Russian dictator. (1/2)
TOWN HALL MEETING TONIGHT! More information about tonight's meeting is available on my website — I look forward to our discussion.

Today, I introduced the MEME Act, which prohibits top federal officials from issuing, sponsoring, or promoting a security, commodity, or digital asset with criminal and civil penalties.
Join me for my in-person town hall meeting on Friday, February 28th, at 5:30 PM. We'll convene in the West Valley College Theater—I look forward to our discussion.
We need a sensible tax policy that benefits our country, not just a handful of extremely wealthy individuals.

Today, @newdems.bsky.social leadership appointed me as Chair of the Innovation & Technology Working Group. I'm honored to serve alongside many talented colleagues to spur an innovation agenda.

As House Republicans celebrate the passage of a budget blueprint that will decimate Medicaid, Pell grants, and child food programs, I’m reminded by my Mom’s words to her 7-year-old son after a mischief-filled shopping trip: “you broke it, you bought it.”
Join my telephone town hall in 10 minutes by dialing 833-998-0865. Can’t make it? Join us for my in-person town hall this Friday at 5:30 PM at West Valley College Campus Center.
My Bay Area colleague, @repkevinmullin.bsky.social, came to the House Floor — post-surgery — using a walker, to vote NO on the budget.
Rep. Pettersen brought her newborn from Colorado to vote NO.
We’re pulling out all the stops—@housedemocrats.bsky.social are not going down without a fight.
🪄 Magic✨ won't save the GOP's budget plan, and neither will Democrats. #SipwithSam

The GOP’s budget puts 130K of our neighbors at risk of losing healthcare while adding $1.6T to the deficit. Families wouldn’t budget this poorly—Congress shouldn’t either. @housedemocrats.bsky.social are united against this mess.
