Congratulations to Arthur Sze, our next Poet Laureate! I am looking forward to supporting his work at the Library of Congress “to recognize, celebrate and appreciate the power of poetry.” And a heartfelt thank you to Ada Limón, who will end her tenure as Poet Laureate in October.

We should not be playing partisan games on critical issues like gun violence.
Earlier this week, my colleagues backed my amendment to save funding for gun violence prevention research. I am thankful for their support. (1/2)
On the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, we remember not only the lives lost and the heroism of America's first responders, but the unity and resolve that Americans showed the world in the face of a devastating tragedy.
We will never forget.
It is devastating to learn of the shooting today at Evergreen High School in Colorado. My heart goes out to those who have been wounded. Students shouldn’t have to live in fear of a shooting taking place in their school. Congress must act to pass common-sense gun safety laws NOW!
I am disgusted and horrified by the shooting of Charlie Kirk that took place this afternoon in Utah. We must unite as a nation to condemn this and all political violence. Americans must come together to stop the epidemic of gun violence in the United States.
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. You can call or text 988 in a mental health emergency—your life is important.
Access to high quality mental health care is vital. I will continue to work to make this a reality for all Americans.
Israel’s actions today are yet further evidence that the government of Prime Minister Netanyahu has become a destabilizing force in the Middle East.
This unprovoked attack on the nation of Qatar is a flagrant violation of international law that harms prospects for peace between Israel and Hamas and jeopardizes the return of Israeli hostages in Hamas captivity.
I unequivocally condemn Israel’s attack on Qatar, a neutral nation that has mediated peace talks for nearly two years between Israel and Hamas.

Happy to welcome Inkit’s new office to Saint Paul! Inkit’s electronic file program serves both the government and private sectors, allowing users to securely create, edit, and share electronic documents. Thanks for their commitment to bring 50+ high-paying tech jobs here in Saint Paul!
The economy is doing terribly under Trump.
📉 Unemployment is 4.3%
🔻 The economy lost 13,000 jobs in June
🚫 There are more job-seekers than job openings
It's no surprise that a government led by the wealthiest cabinet in history doesn't care about the needs of working people.
