Yes, there is a lot of work to do but doing nothing is not an option.
We owe this to all our children & all of our communities. It’s beyond time to get it done.
These bills & additional legislation by House Dems are a strong start.
But combatting gun violence also requires standing up to hatred & promoting mental health with the same urgency as we take legislative action.
- Promote safe firearm storage to stop preventable deaths (H.R. 1564)
- Restrict the most dangerous weapons
of war from civilian use (H.R. 2790)
- Establish a federal Office of Gun Violence Prevention to coordinate national efforts (H.R. 1307)
We can pass legislation that would:
- Strengthen background checks so firearms don’t fall into dangerous hands (H.R. 3868)
- Close deadly loopholes, including banning bump stocks (H.R. 2799)
We cannot accept this as our reality. House Democrats have put forward common sense GVP legislation - we just need ALL elected officials to offer more than their thoughts & prayers & do the right thing.
Here’s how we begin to end the scourge of GV in our country & beyond🧵
Today, as we remember the 26 lives taken at Sandy Hook Elementary School, we struggle once again to comprehend two more horrific shootings that took innocent lives.
Happy Hanukkah to families across our communities and beyond!
May this season bring joy, unity, and meaningful celebrations to you and your loved ones as you light the way for love to conquer darkness. Chag Sameach!
I have always fought alongside those who want to protect LSP from development and I always will.

I am glad that the State House Commission has taken off a vote to approve this unnecessary commercialization off of their agenda for now, but this fight is not yet over.
We will continue to stand with Friends of LSP and all of the advocates fighting to preserve the park we all love.
2/3
Liberty State Park is a gem and a treasured oasis in our urban landscape for so many, including for my family.
Building a warehouse for yachts at the gateway to LSP would mar the appearance and character of our beloved park.

We cannot accept this to be our reality, and we must take action to end anti-semitism and all forms of hatred.

I am horrified by the anti-semitic attack in Australia that took place on the first night of Hanukkah as Jewish-Australians were celebrating one of the most joyful holidays for Jewish people across the world.
This is not a problem without a solution - but one that requires elected officials to act. I have and always will fight for gun safety reforms to stop incidents like this from happening and tearing apart our communities.
2/2
The shooting at Brown University is another horrific example of our national gun violence epidemic.
We cannot accept a reality in which students must fear their safety taking final exams or in which parents are afraid to send their kids to school.

Congressman Randy Fine’s vile rhetoric against our Muslim communities is deeply disturbing and unacceptable.
Our Muslim friends and neighbors uplift our state and our country. All of my colleagues must immediately denounce this Islamophobia and racist behavior. We must be better than this.
Always great to see our very own NJ Devils spreading some holiday cheer at JC Medical Center—and making a new fan in the process.
Proud to see sports bringing our community together.
We must continue strong oversight, hold ICE and private prison companies accountable, and ensure every person is treated with basic human dignity.
Absolutely shameful and not how our country should be. My heart breaks for the families of every immigrant who died on ICE's watch this year.
Unsafe conditions at privately run, for-profit ICE facilities show a profound disregard for the well-being of our communities.
An airline causes nationwide chaos, and now they get off easy.
How is that putting Americans first? This Admin continues to side with corporations over hardworking families.
