Despite what’s going on across our country, it’s still important to take time to celebrate the joy and strength of our shared diversity. Grateful to join our vibrant Ghanaian-American community to recognize their immense contributions to Rhode Island. 🇬🇭🇺🇸
I remain committed to getting answers from the Department of Homeland Security to provide Dr. Alawieh, her family, her colleagues, and our community the clarity we all deserve.
Since Friday, my office and I have been directly engaged with local and national lawyers, as well as other Members of Congress, to assess the facts surrounding Dr. Alawieh, including the apparent violation of a federal judge’s order.
Proud of brand-new Eagle Scout Armani Rodriguez of Troop 1 in Providence! He’s already shown great leadership on the Central High School Knights 🏈 team to running his own free football clinic for local kids. We’re looking forward to all the great things you’ll do, Armani!
Trump and Musk's efforts to dismantle the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau will leave American consumers unprotected in the finacial marketplace and increase the risk of seniors falling victim to fraud.
Rubio and Trump refuse to answer legitimate questions about Mahmoud Khalil’s arrest and the revocation of his legal residency status.   Suspending the civil rights of those you disagree with is un-American. Any allegations or evidence of a crime have to be justified and litigated in court.
Led by @congresstran.bsky.social, I joined House Democrats calling on @schumer.senate.gov to stand strong and oppose the Republican spending bill that would hurt communities all across America. This is not a time to let up. This is a time to fight for our fellow Americans.
My thoughts are with the friends, family, and loved ones of Congressman Raúl Grijalva. As a fierce voice for Arizona and its people, Raúl was never afraid to stand up for what was right and just. May he rest in peace.
We’re on the side of the American people. While their reckless agenda is driving our economy into a ditch, Republicans would rather point fingers than actually do the work necessary to prevent a shutdown.
Alongside a united front of @housedemocrats.bsky.social, I’m ready to vote today, tomorrow or Friday on a bill that stops harmful cuts to health care, nutritional assistance and veterans benefits for Rhode Islanders and Americans.
My colleague, Rep. John Larson, couldn’t have said it better. This time led by Elon, Republicans are running the same play they have tried before — trying to cut Social Security & Medicaid and escape accountability. Hardworking Americans need these programs. We can’t back down now.
A top Democratic congressman goes off during a DOGE hearing and calls out Elon for trying to cut Social Security. More of this please.
Medicaid covers approx 45% of all births in RI and helps about half of the children in our state access primary and preventative care.   It’s not just Democrats sounding the alarm — Medicaid cuts would devastate red, purple, and blue states alike.
I will fight against this decision that will cause learning loss, program cuts, lack of support for students with disabilities, and disruption for students, teachers, and school communities alike.
Today, I voted no on the Republican continuing resolution that would cede more power to Elon Musk and his assault on hardworking Americans. Republicans are evicting people from their continuing their gleeful sprint to transfer wealth from the middle class to the richest 1%.
