Today we remember the six million Jewish people murdered during the Holocaust. On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, and every day, we stand against antisemitism and ensure these horrors are never forgotten.
Every agent involved should have been wearing and using a body camera because this tool is essential for public trust. It’s heartbreaking that our country is at a point where Americans are dying in the streets, and a five year old child is being used as bait to detain his family.
U.S. citizen Alex Pretti’s death is a tragedy, and the Trump administration’s false claims about his killing are disgusting. At least three of the eight or more federal agents at the scene of his death were apparently wearing body cameras. It is still unclear whether they were activated.
Electrical workers, snowplow operators and public safety workers were out in force this weekend keeping people safe from the extreme winter weather across the country. Thank you for all that you do to keep our communities running. ✊
As freezing temperatures continue throughout South Jersey this week, remember that warming centers are open. If you or someone you know needs a warm place, dial 211 to find open warming centers and local resources. Remember to stay safe and check on your neighbors.
I’m relieved @frost.house.gov is okay. This attack is a reminder of how common political violence has become in our nation. The man who did this cited Trump’s hateful rhetoric, showing how words from our President can do real harm. Let’s be clear: violence is never the answer.
Last night, I was assaulted by a man at Sundance Festival who told me that Trump was going to deport me before he punched me in the face. He was heard screaming racist remarks as he drunkenly ran off. The individual was arrested and I am okay. variety.com/2026/film/ne...
In 2013, Camden reformed their police department, & rebuilt it with a renewed focus on community policing. We went from one of the highest murder rates in the country to one of the lowest proving that community centered, transparent police departments work. I think it’s time we do the same with ICE.
These recurring shootings by ICE reveal an agency that is fundamentally broken. Americans shouldn’t die and immigrant communities shouldn’t live in fear because of how ICE operates. It’s time to abolish ICE as it exists and rebuild it with trust and transparency.
Happy Birthday to my office neighbor and friend of labor, @garamendi.house.gov. From fighting for working families to standing up for labor, ports, and American shipbuilding, we both know this nation was built by strong workers. Glad to serve alongside you.
Body cameras protect safety and accountability for everyone. In New Jersey, we’ve seen real success with state troopers wearing body cameras, and many officers don't like working without them. Transparency and trust make everyone safer.
I will keep pushing until my bill gets over the finish line and body cameras are mandatory for all public-facing immigration enforcement officers. Without enforceable rules, real oversight, and accountability, DHS and ICE will keep operating without consequences.
The spending package does include $20 million to purchase body cameras for ICE agents, but that’s not good enough. Money alone doesn’t guarantee those cameras get worn. My bill, the Trust Through Transparency Act, would require by law that ICE agents wear body cameras.
Donald Trump, Kristi Noem, and ICE are abusing their power. They promised to go after violent criminals, instead Americans are getting killed and immigrant communities are living in fear. We can do better, which is why I voted ‘no’ on the DHS appropriations bill. 🧵
On the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, it's clear the fight for reproductive freedom isn't over. Healthcare decisions belong to patients and their doctors, not politicians. No one should be forced into dangerous situations or impossible choices because of extremist bans.
