There is of course so much more, this is just the first 3 things I thought of.
Happy to clarify/answer questions about it!

1. Sit down and really think about what your non-negotiables/boundaries are. Know your “why”
2. Be strategic about the seat. Could be very local or higher up, but consider the politics and the commitment (not all are full-time!).
3. Ruth Messinger’s advice to me: “Grow Rino skin”
& knock doors!!
Imo it wasn’t a bad feature, but it’s been getting worse & more biased as of late (as are a lot of things over there).
I think it’s important that the threshold of what gets checked is high (ex. clearly incorrect / harmfully lacking context). If it’s too low, then people just keep fighting more
I love her work!
Hmmm, good question… maybe I can poke around with DOT next week for an update
Thank you so much! And I’m so happy you both like Taco Mix!! 🌮 They are wonderful
Gave her one!
Yeah honestly it came down to time (I have none) and similarity to 🐦. The Mastodon server thing sounded like something I needed to convene my team for a rec on. This took no time & the similarity to the bird app means I don’t have to learn a new UI
That said, I’m not opposed to joining Mastodon!
I’m here in a personal capacity so it’s above board. My official gov accounts (repaoc) would take more time
Imo, yes. One caveat is that many gov and public service accounts (at least at the fed level) require a platform assessment prior to joining, which likely require more safety features than are currently available (ex: 2FA)
It’s a bit early for now, but depending on how things grow it could happen!
Should we try to get these types of alerts that have real utility over here? @aoc.bsky.social

I don’t have any burner accounts, but I do have a bluesky account 😌
I think ostracizing fascists is good, actually. They used to wear hoods for a reason
Hi Cooper 👋🏽
Can vouch 👍🏽
You can also post a Reddit-style selfie with a note showing the date/bluesky on it to help people out, that’s what I did
Emotionally, the elephant 🐘 difficulty-wise, the bee 🐝
I haven’t finished it yet so there might be something else out there
The elephant is traumatizing. I tried to cancel or opt out the whole time but it doesn’t let you. Keeps me up at night 🐘
Hung out with the UAW, Justin Jones & @summerlee.bsky.social today 😎
President Fain of UAW took off his lapel pin during our meeting and handed it to me 🥹 We’re gonna win a better future y’all, I feel it in my bones

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
