Capital Area Community Services in Lansing provides vital support to folks throughout the region. Like so many in our state, their work has been impacted by the chaos & harmful policies of the Trump Admin. I was glad to have the opportunity to hear from them directly today about these challenges.
Quick detour through Spartan country
Plus, this project is supported by union labor! Thank you LiUNA Local 1075, UA Local 370, and others for all your work to build safe, durable infrastructure in our communities.
Community projects get done when we roll up our sleeves, put politics aside, and come together. That’s what happened with the Southern Lakes Water Extension Project, which will bring clean drinking water to the residents and businesses throughout Genesee County.
It’s absolutely essential that folks have access to safe, clean drinking water. On our first stop of this year’s motorcycle tour, I saw how federal funding is helping Fenton Township connect more folks to safe municipal water after high levels of arsenic were detected in the water supply.
And we’re off to our first stop on motorcycle tour 2025! Let’s ride. #MilesforMichigan
Getting ready to head out for this year’s tour. Follow along as I hit the road 🏍️
I've always said there's no better way to see our beautiful state than on a motorcycle, so excited to share I'll be kicking off my annual motorcycle tour across Michigan next week! Look forward to hearing from folks about the challenges we face & the work being done to make our communities stronger.
Congratulations Ray Carlson, this year's UP Veteran of the Year! Ray proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, and for more than twenty years, he's been an invaluable veteran advocate and tireless community leader. Ray, thank you for everything you do.

This is remarkable work. Fish stocking supports our Great Lakes, creates diverse fishing opportunities for Michiganders & contributes billions to our state’s economy.
Michigan fisheries and hatcheries are essential to our state and I’m proud to support their work.

My statement on the joint declaration signed by Armenia and Azerbaijan at the White House last week:
The Flint Registry has been one of our most effective tools for delivering the comprehensive support that Flint families need to mitigate the negative impacts of lead exposure. I’m glad this funding will allow the community to continue supporting those who are still impacted by this crisis.
Michiganders work hard and pay into Social Security their entire lives to retire with dignity and security.
Today, on its 90th anniversary, I remain committed to protecting this promise for future generations and fighting against any effort to harm Social Security.
Trump’s Big Bad Bill will add over $3.5 TRILLION to our federal debt, which will make things like your home mortgage, car loan, and student loans more expensive.
Republicans have done a real disservice to folks everywhere, all to give a tax break to billionaires.
Great to stop by Lions training camp! Looking forward to another great season
On #PurpleHeartDay, we thank and honor the brave Americans who were wounded or killed in action. To all those who have made this immense sacrifice for our country, we are forever indebted to your service.
Today is the 60th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, a landmark law that works to ensure every American can exercise their fundamental right to vote. But today, that right is under attack. Voting is the bedrock of our democracy, and we must continue to fight back against these efforts.
President Trump and AG Bondi went back on their word that they would release the Epstein files, and now Republican senators have openly said they’re “covering” for them. The American people deserve transparency.
60 years ago today, Medicare and Medicaid were signed into law, expanding access to lifesaving, affordable health care for millions of Americans. Despite Republican attacks, I'll keep fighting to protect these essential programs for the next 60 years and beyond.
Under 5 U.S.C §2954, HSGAC has the unique authority to request information from any executive agency that falls within our Committee’s oversight jurisdiction. We are using that authority to request the Epstein files from AG Bondi. The American people deserve transparency.
