"The system is fully non-functional at this point," our client ICE whistleblower Ryan Schwank told @pocan.house.gov about the internal mechanisms to report wrongdoing in the administration. Watch the full episode: youtu.be/tDFe_nmZqXo?...
I’m excited to see the progress made on what will be Madison’s first homeless shelter for men, providing a safe, welcoming, and dignified environment for Madison's most vulnerable.
I was honored to secure $2 million in federal funds to help make this 44,000+ square feet shelter come to life!
Republicans in Congress let the ACA tax credits expire. Now premiums have skyrocketed, and more than one in five Americans enrolled in an ACA plan simply can’t pay.
We need to bring back the tax credits and make healthcare more affordable for every American!

Today, I offered an amendment to the Commerce, Justice, & Science funding bill to prohibit the Trump administration from targeting any person or organization solely for exercising their constitutionally-protected First Amendment rights. Every Republican in Committee voted no. (3/3)
Those are vague and undefined terms, and this directive is a clear effort to silence criticism and dissent by infringing on Americans' freedom of speech. (2/3)
Last fall, the Trump administration issued an Orwellian directive called NSPM-7 which would allow them to investigate anyone they deem to be "anti-Christian," "anti-capitalist," or "anti-American," for domestic terrorism. (1/3)
Thanks to a whistleblower, we now know ICE was inadequately training new agents and teaching practices that violate the Fourth Amendment.
On today’s podcast, I spoke with @ryanschwank.bsky.social, who blew the lid off their training failures.

While Americans are seeing rising costs in every aspect of their lives, Trump is focused on…

It makes me so happy to see the beagles from Ridglan Farms on their way to loving homes!
BREAKING: Inflation skyrocketed to the highest point in three years because of Trump’s war with Iran.
Good news is rare in Washington these days, so watching countless beagles being rescued from Ridglan Farms was a welcome change.
I’ll continue working to ensure that what happened at Ridglan never happens again.
Last minute, I went to thank the volunteers from both groups for their work. I’ll continue to fight for loving homes for all these dogs and all the remaining dogs until facilities like these no longer exist.
I was supposed to volunteer with Dane County Humane Society & @beaglefreedom.bsky.social to rescue the remaining beagles at Ridglan Farms. However, their attorney told me that I wasn’t welcome on their property.
To all the moms in Wisconsin and across the country: thank you for all you do. Happy Mother’s Day!
Had a good conversation with senior officials in Secretary Kennedy’s office about making sure that facilities like Ridglan Farms can never misuse dogs again.
I believe he agrees, but action is required. He can do this.
If a facility has serious violations it should be shut down, period.
When I’m in Wisconsin meeting with constituents, I don’t hear a single person tell me that they want to spend their hard-earned money on a $1 billion golden ballroom. What I do hear is the rising costs of gas, groceries, healthcare & housing. This Administration promised to lower costs. They failed.
Later this month, I will be hosting a town hall in every county across my district!

I’m honored to join Rep. Houchin, @trahan.house.gov, and Rep. Valadao in introducing the bipartisan Campus Lifeline Act, which would give colleges greater access to 988 and the tools to better support students' mental health. (2/2)
