“The billions of dollars the CFPB has returned to consumers isn’t just a statistic. It’s a reality.” Thank you @ayannapressley.bsky.social for sharing these stories. The CFPB provides real solutions to real people who are mistreated by banks, predatory lenders & debt collectors.
Mohsen Mahdawi's release is an encouraging step in the fight to defend our constitutional rights to due process & free speech.
Now, the Administration must release Rümeysa Öztürk, Mahmoud Khalil, and everyone unjustly detained.
We have not forgotten about you & we will fight for your rights daily.
The power of clemency is life-changing.
And this data affirms that commutations for people serving unfair & outdated sentences is a critical step toward justice & healing.
I applaud President Biden for using clemency to bring thousands of individuals home & reunite families.
NEW DATA: Commutations for more than 2,100 people in prison serving long, outdated federal sentences mean real second chances! Read more on FWD’s latest research: www.fwd.us/news/new-dat...
As the daughter of a tenants' rights organizer, I know how essential it is that tenants be able to advocate for a safe, healthy home.
Proud to join @ramirez.house.gov on the Tenants' Right to Organize Act to enable tenants to hold landlords accountable & demand better living conditions.
Donald Trump’s first 100 days have been a masterclass of cruelty, callousness, chaos, & corruption.
He has attacked everyone & everything, except the rising cost of living.
YI'll continue to stand in the gap & fight for the dignity, safety, & economic wellbeing of everyone.
Congressman Connolly has been a steadfast champion for the people of #VA11 and a devoted leader of Oversight Democrats.
His commitment to federal workers and demanding accountability from our government is an example for all of us.
I wish him & his family strength as he continues this battle.

My staff had the honor of joining @mayorwu.boston.gov, @ruthzee.bsky.social, & his family to celebrate his courage, sacrifice, & enduring legacy of service to Puerto Ricans & all people across the #MA7.
I’m deeply grateful for Tony’s partnership & his commitment to our community.

Great to be in community with @pressley.house.gov last night. Grateful for her and our federal delegation’s work to meet with Rümeysa Öztürk in Louisiana this week. We won’t stop fighting until she, and all unjustly detained students, are free! ✊

Sending huge gratitude to all of these Members of Congress for standing up Rümeysa, Mahmoud, and all of our fundamental rights!
@repmcgovern.bsky.social, @markey.senate.gov, @pressley.house.gov, @benniethompson.bsky.social, @reptroycarter.bsky.social
Our meeting with Rümeysa Öztürk was a true testament to her character.
She remains kind-hearted and courageous, despite the cruelty she is enduring at the facility.
I asked her pointedly if she had a message for the people of Somerville, she said thank you for being her community.
Democracy is strengthened by active, educated engagement by everyone.
That's why Donald Trump won't stop his relentless attacks on DEI, public education, academic freedom, & more.
TY Emerson College for having me to discuss higher ed the next four years & how we can fight back.
A safe, healthy pregnancy should be a human right.
But Trump’s cuts to Medicaid and other programs will leave millions of pregnant Black women at higher risk of death.
We need comprehensive policies to confront the Black maternal health crisis, not worsen it.

Thank you Rep Carter, @benniethompson.bsky.social, @pressley.house.gov, Rep McGovern, @markey.senate.gov for traveling to advocate for the release of Mahmoud Khalil and Rümeysa Öztürk, who remain unjustly held in ICE custody.
This is the leadership this moment requires www.cnn.com/2025/04/22/u...
Rümeysa Öztürk and Mahmoud Khalil are political prisoners being subjected to medical neglect, sleep deprivation, and inadequate meals.
This is chilling, harrowing, and Donald Trump’s cruelty is the point.
We visited them to shine a light on these violations of their rights.
Thank you Jim Brett and the New England Council for the warm welcome & opportunity to join you for another Capitol Hill Report.
As Trump & Musk continue their relentless attacks on our small businesses, financial institutions, & workforce, one thing is clear: We're stronger together.

“Rümeysa Öztürk is my constituent, an accomplished scholar, and a valued member of our MA community. Like Rümeysa, Mahmoud Kahlil has committed no crime and is being punished by Donald Trump simply for exercising his right to free speech,” says Rep. @pressley.house.gov: www.cnn.com/2025/04/22/u...
Closing the digital literacy gap is critical for the workforce in the #MA7.
I'm proud to deliver $1M for Boston's DigLit Initiative to help workers access the digital skills they need to access resources, opportunities, & secure good jobs.
