Youth Guidance Boston is doing transformative work to keep our students in school and improve outcomes for at-risk young men and women. I'm grateful for the work they do pouring into our youth and for the opportunity to meet with them during our recent district work period.

Trump’s attack on Title X funding is an attack on women, health care, and vulnerable people. I'm joining the @reprocaucus.bsky.social & @demwomencaucus.bsky.social demanding Secretary Kennedy restore these funds & services that millions of our constituents depend on. time.com/7274529/hous...
@warren.senate.gov, @markey.senate.gov, and I demand that DHS immediately provide her access to the care she needs, restore her visa, and release her. Every minute she remains in custody is another minute her health and rights are at risk.
🚨UPDATE: Rümeysa Öztürk has now suffered three separate asthma attacks while in DHS custody. She has not received her required asthma medications—a violation of her fundamental right to medical care. This is cruelty, it is neglect, and it is a damning moral and legal failure.
Pressley, Warren, Markey Sound Alarm on Rümeysa Öztürk’s Medical Neglect, Renew Urgent Calls for Her Release (1/2):

“It is unconscionable that Rümeysa Öztürk—a young woman pursuing her education, exercising her First Amendment rights, and contributing to her community—remains detained by DHS. Her ongoing incarceration is not only a blatant violation of her constitutional rights to due process and free speech, but it is now an egregious denial of her fundamental right to medical care.
Pressley, Warren, Markey Sound Alarm on Rümeysa Öztürk’s Medical Neglect, Renew Urgent Calls for Her Release (2/2):

“According to her lawyer, Rümeysa has not received her required asthma medications and has now suffered three separate asthma attacks while in custody. This is cruelty, it is neglect, and it is a damning moral and legal failure.

“As her representatives in Congress, we demand DHS immediately provide Rümeysa with access to the health care she needs, and absent compelling evidence justifying her detention and the revocation of her status, we call for Ozturk’s release and the restoration of her visa. Every minute she remains in custody is another minute her health and rights are at risk, and DHS must move with urgency.”
This week, my Somerville constituent Rümeysa Öztürk was abducted in broad daylight by DHS officials and sent to Louisiana to be locked in a detention center. She has not been charged with any crime.

Everyone should be able to choose their own healthcare provider. But today, right-wing extremists want to deny Medicaid recipients that fundamental right and continue their assault on healthcare. The Supreme Court must stand with the people and protect patients' rights.
Proud to bear witness & stand in solidarity with my brother colleague @booker.senate.gov. Sen. Booker's historic speech is a testament to the power of one voice, one man, & free speech. TY Senator for your advocacy & for meeting this unprecedented moment with unprecedented leadership.
We can’t let Elon Musk & his DOGE bros raid our personal & sensitive health data. That’s why @degette.house.gov, @repdangoldman.bsky.social, @reptroycarter.bsky.social, @velazquez.house.gov, & I are introducing the DOGE POUND Act to tell Elon & DOGE: Hands. Off. Our. Data.
