There's no better way to honor King than to build community.
As we brace for the next four years, I’m grateful to everyone who joined us to create a space for healing & empowerment.
Together we're powerful & together we'll create the just & equitable world that King envisioned.
Tune in as we kick off our Day of Beloved Community to mark the MLK holiday and prepare for the next four years.

This MLK holiday, we face a profound & painful contradiction.
But Dr. King gifted us with a blueprint for community-building & transformative change.
I wrote in @globeopinion.bsky.social about why it should be our roadmap as we govern over the next four years.

Hey y'all!
Join us tomorrow at 1:30pm in Roxbury as we prepare for the next four years by building community.
All ages are welcome and you can RSVP here: www.eventbrite.com/e/day-of-bel...
As we face the challenges of another Trump presidency, we're choosing community over chaos.
It was a joy to kick off MLK weekend with ACLU Massachusetts and begin to build the beloved community Dr. King envisioned.

The ACLU of MA Action Team and @pressley.house.gov are choosing COMMUNITY OVER CHAOS!
What we choose to do now, and in the next four years matters: And we – the ACLU, our partners, and the leaders who spoke on the Bandstand today – are recommitting to community, to solidarity, and to people power.

I must shout out my fearless friend @mcclellan.house.gov, who made this possible by leading Virginia to become the 38th and final state necessary to ratify the ERA.
Also, @pressley.house.gov & @coribush.bsky.social, who led the federal effort to ensure these protections reach people in every state.
President Biden has answered our calls & affirmed what generations of advocates, organizers, & lawmakers have long fought for—the ERA is the law of the land.
This is a historic victory for our movement that has worked relentlessly for over a century to make possible.
My statement:
Today, President Biden is taking another historic, transformative, & compassionate step toward healing & reuniting families.
This is what we’ve been calling for & this is the type of leadership the moment demands.
Clemency will be a defining part of his legacy.
This is welcome news and I'm grateful to President Biden for heeding our calls.
It’s time to restart diplomacy and engagement efforts in Cuba and advance human rights on the island.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a man before he was a martyr.
A father, husband, son, and man who had a bold vision for revolutionary change.
As we celebrate his 96th birthday & reflect on his legacy, let's not forget his humanity.A photo of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. & his family.
My statement on the ceasefire-hostage deal:
Imagine being 8 years old, trying out for the soccer team, and your coach demands you show them your genitals.
That's exactly what Republicans' latest anti-trans, anti-child bill would do.
HR 28 is a disgusting bill that would put the safety of every child at risk.

President Biden has rightfully used his clemency power to change and save lives, and he must continue doing so before leaving office.
With days remaining in his presidency, we're calling on him to move with urgency and keep using clemency to address mass incarceration & reunite families.
Hey #MA7!

This is a family-friendly event and all ages are welcome.

Four years ago, student debt cancellation was considered a fringe issue.
Now, thanks to our advocacy, President Biden has canceled student debt for over 5 million borrowers.
This is transformative relief that will change and save lives.

With book bans on the rise, I'm grateful to Porsha and the team at justBook-ish for working to preserve representative literature.
We need safe spaces like these.
We need stories and authors and images that foster empathy and understanding, especially now.

President Joe Biden's acts of clemency have had life-changing and life-saving impacts.
And he shouldn't stop there.
In his final days, he must keep using clemency to address mass incarceration and reunite families.

Congrats @seiu.org and @aflcio.org!
The state of our labor movement is strong.

"We have a mass incarceration crisis in this country," said Pressley on WBUR's Morning Edition. "Our broken clemency system has contributed formidably to that."
