Trump's toxic tariffs have cause inflation to rise and grocery prices to skyrocket.
Remember that when shopping for turkey day this week.
As the weather gets colder, Trump is delaying critical funds for housing that 170,000 Americans depend on.
As a senior member of the Housing Subcommittee for Appropriations, I’m holding the line with @delauro.house.gov and 200 other Democrats in demanding this funding be restored.
Crime rates were down BEFORE Operation Midway Blitz, yet Trump continues to take credit for Chicago's increased safety — all while cutting these effective programs left and right.
Today, as Putin wages another brutal campaign against Ukraine, we cannot repeat the mistakes of the past or allow Trump to force Ukraine into a false “peace” dictated by Moscow. Never again means standing with Ukraine now.
Today is Holodomor Remembrance Day, when we honor the millions of Ukrainians who were murdered in Stalin’s man-made famine — a deliberate attempt to starve a nation into submission. That history warns us: When authoritarian regimes try to erase a people, the world must not look away.
I'm horrified to learn of the mass shooting in the heart of Chicago's downtown last night. My thoughts are with the victims and everyone who was touched by gun violence. This is yet another reminder of the urgent need to address the gun crisis in our nation.
I enjoyed attending the PAWS Chicago Annual ‘Fur Ball!’ As a no-kill shelter, PAWS has saved tens of thousands of animals – reducing euthanasia of Chicago’s homeless animals by over 90%.
As a dog dad and Co-Chair of the Animal Protection Caucus, I’m proud to fight to end unjust animal killings.

No asterisk needed, the science has not changed. There is no link between vaccines and autism.

New data from the Department of Justice found that 97% of the 600+ Chicagoans abducted by ICE had no criminal records.
Trump’s thugs terrorized our city for just a handful of lawbreakers. We need to get ICE under control before they attack other cities as well.

Here in Chicago, chaotic ICE raids have forced people to live in fear. This fear has lowered foot traffic, decimating our small businesses — including restaurants and daycare centers.
The UK and at least two other countries stopped sharing intel with the United States under Tulsi Gabbard's leadership.
I agree with @jahimes.bsky.social and @joaquincastrotx.bsky.social — the administration has to fix this.
Glad to see the abrupt aboutface.
My team and I have been visiting St. Sabina Church's food pantry on weekends. If you need assistance, check out our food bank guide for spots throughout Chicago.
The Big Ugly Bill is already kicking families off SNAP. That, plus Trump refusing to pay the benefits for this month and skyrocketing grocery prices, means more people need extra help.
I can't believe we even have to say this, but swastikas, nooses, and other hate emblems aren't "potentially divisive." They're symbols of terror and should continue to be banned by our troops.
Secretary Noem and Secretary Hegseth, I expect a reversal of this immediately.

Instead of actually working to lower your grocery costs, help you get a job, or make your health care cheaper, the Trump administration would rather just blame immigrants for literally everything.
Trump is pushing a Russia-driven "peace" plan that throws Ukraine under the bus, forcing it to cede territory, slash its army, and accept the most extreme demands yet.
Accepting this would be a betrayal of our allies and capitulation to Putin. We need true peace, not appeasement.
On this Trans Day of Remembrance, I’m joining 212 other Democrats in demanding Speaker Johnson condemn this hateful rhetoric and enforce the rules against those who use epithets.
Every day, trans Americans suffer immense scrutiny from the far-right. Service members have been banned from the military, and veterans have had their benefits stolen from them. Now, multiple members of Congress have used slurs and called for trans people to be institutionalized. (More below)
