On this day 9 years ago the world came together to sign the groundbreaking Paris Climate Accords. Donald Trump's decision to withdraw the US from that agreement was a disaster and his incoming administration has even more anti-planet plans. Will you stand with me against their pro-disaster agenda?

On December 13, 2022, @POTUS signed the #RespectForMarriageAct into law. I'm proud to have voted for this bill. Now, federal law includes critical protections for same-sex & interracial couples.

Today marks the second anniversary of the Respect for Marriage Act being signed into law. This law enshrined justice, dignity and respect for all Americans regardless of who you love.

This year, I attended over 80 community meetings to hear directly from my constituents about the issues that matter most to you. Visiting with you whenever I'm in my district is one of my most important responsibilities.

I know I'm not the only Illinoisan tired of gun violence in our city being enabled by lax laws in neighboring states. We need stronger federal gun violence prevention laws to protect us nationwide.

On December 12th, communities across the country come together to celebrate The Feast of Our Lady Guadalupe, a symbol of perseverance and resilience. Today, we embrace her profound impact on the Mexican-American community and wish all who observe a day of peace and devotion.

Too many Chicagoans have been touched by the gun violence epidemic. I'm proud that Illinois has stepped up to end this epidemic but more must be done on the federal level. I'll keep fighting until the GOP finally chooses people over the gun industry.

As the visibility of the trans community has increased and more trans people have bravely chosen to live their truths, anti-equality politicians have sought to limit their rights. I am deeply committed to protecting trans individuals from all narrow-minded attacks.

The Biden–Harris Administration has removed key barriers to organ donation from recipients living with HIV, potentially reducing wait times for thousands of patients. As a strong supporter of policies that put science first for individuals living with HIV, I applaud this move.

UN Human Rights Day marks the proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on December 10, 1948. Recently, human rights at home and abroad have been under assault. I am committed to protecting human rights everywhere, and I hope you'll stand with me in that fight.
