While Americans struggle with rising costs and federal workers are denied their paychecks, Trump is bulldozing the White House to make room for his $300 million ballroom. Republicans should worry more about their constituents and less about their billionaire donors.
The federal shutdown is already impacting North Carolinians, and it’s only going to get worse. I met with folks at the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle to see how they're providing food to North Carolinians in need during this shutdown and hear how Republican cuts to food assistance are hurting people.
Donald Trump and Republicans are cutting vital healthcare funding and research. This has devastating consequences for real people. Gloria from Raleigh shared her story with me about battling leukemia and the need for medical research.
At the behest of Trump, NC Republicans are silencing voters. This is a shameless attack on the voting rights that generations of Black Americans fought for. We cannot allow power-hungry politicians to rig elections and choose their own voters. ncnewsline.com/2025/10/20/n...
Quality clothing is essential, especially for students. I volunteered at Note in the Pocket, a local nonprofit that provides quality clothing to homeless and impoverished children and families. Thank you for everything you do for our community.
This man tried to overturn our democracy. Trump pardoned him. Now he's been arrested for threatening to kill a Congressman. Trump doesn't care about keeping communities safe. He only values loyalty to him. www.cbsnews.com/news/pardone...
Celebrating Diwali is always an inspiration, from my first term in Congress in 2021 to Hum Sub's celebration earlier this month. Happy Diwali to everyone celebrating. Wishing you light, laughter, and time with the people you love.
The House has been out of session for a month. We've only been in session 12 days since late July. This is inexcusable. Americans want healthcare. They want a government that functions as it should. Instead, Republicans are refusing to show up for work.
This egregious gerrymander is an attack on voting rights that generations of Black Americans marched and fought and died for. We cannot allow power-hungry politicians to disenfranchise minority communities and rig elections. ncnewsline.com/briefs/north...
House Republicans are refusing to seat Adelita Grijalva, and in the process, are silencing hundreds of thousands of Arizonans because they're afraid of what's in the Epstein Files. She deserves to be sworn in, and victims deserve justice.
1 in 4 women experience domestic violence. During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we recognize the strength of survivors and the urgent need to support them with resources and action. I joined @demwomencaucus.bsky.social to stand in solidarity with survivors.
Climate change is bad for the environment and bad for the economy. Thanks to @whitehouse.senate.gov, Partners for Environmental Justice, & @nclcv.bsky.social for raising awareness about the danger that climate change poses to renters and homeowners across the country.
Solar energy is good for our environment and good for the economy, creating American jobs and lowering utility bills. I'm glad to see NC fighting to make sure these grants are available, especially for rural and low-income North Carolinians. www.wral.com/story/nc-sue...
Americans deserve affordable healthcare. They shouldn't be caught up in partisan games. North Carolinians are already feeling the pain of rising costs and Medicaid cuts. We need to protect our people and make healthcare more affordable.
