I’ve introduced legislation to provide enhanced career training and wraparound services and support the statewide task force to help high school students create strong alternative paths for their future.
If we are going to be this big, powerful force that throws our weight around the world, the world wants to know, at a minimum, that we're doing it for the right reasons and with a sense of values to protect people, not to destroy entire civilizations.

REP. ADAM SMITH: We roll out red carpet for Putin, we belittle and insult President Zelenskyy in White House — he has no cards, right? Well, year after that, it looks like Zelenskyy had couple of cards to play because Ukraine is actually winning against Russia.

Hegseth: "Their nuclear facilities have been obliterated." Rep. Smith: "We had to start this war, you just said, 60 days ago, because the nuclear weapon was an imminent threat. Now you're saying it was completely obliterated…So Operation Midnight Hammer accomplished nothing?"

HEGSETH: Their nuclear facilities have been obliterated SMITH: Whoa whoa. We had to start this war, you said, bc the nuclear weapon was an imminent threat. Now you're saying it was obliterated? HEGSETH: They had not given up their *ambitions* S: So Operation Midnight Hammer accomplished nothing

Smith: "We're doing this on our own as we increasingly push away all our allies, gratuitously insulting them. In the middle of this war where we're asking NATO to come join us, the president took time to insult Macron and his wife. How is that helping us, to try to belittle everybody in the world?"
This weekend in Seattle, I visited the Vaisakhi celebration alongside the Consulate General of India. Thank you for welcoming me to this great festival honoring the new year.
