Under Kristi Noem’s leadership, ICE and DHS terrorized our communities and abused their power. Her work in the Trump Administration should have been over a long time ago. (1/2)
Read my statement on the Farm Bill.
Republicans in D.C. gave huge tax breaks to people like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk — when Congress really should be prioritizing American families and farms.
As Ranking Member of the Horticulture Subcommittee, it is my duty to support specialty crop producers.
That’s why I introduced an amendment to make it easier for specialty crop growers who want to expand their farms to do so while getting the crop insurance coverage they need.
Oregon forests are foundational to our state’s economy and character.
Congress must boost the development of innovative wood product technologies, such as mass timber construction.
These technologies not only support Oregon’s important timber industry, but also address the housing crisis.
On this day, in 1933, Frances Perkins was appointed by President Roosevelt as the first female cabinet member and served as Secretary of Labor.
During Women's History Month, and every month, we honor the many women who have made significant contributions to our country.

Getting by isn’t good enough. Rural communities deserve to get ahead.
The Farm Bill should help our rural communities address chronic underinvestment by improving technical support for federal grants for needs like child care, housing, and job training.
I’m all for reducing the number of errors in SNAP payments, but Republicans aren’t.
They claim they want to reduce payment errors, but their new rules will only cause MORE. I think the real reason for their crazy new rule is to kick people off SNAP.
The fact that we would not gather, collect, and survey people who are hungry tells me that we are silencing the realities of people who are food insecure.
Republicans think that by not measuring food insecurity, we will make the problem better.
Donald Trump and my Republican colleagues failed rural Americans.
Instead of ensuring farmers and families have the tools and resources they need to thrive, they decided to help their billionaire buddies get even richer and dig our nation deeper into debt.
Democrats on the House Agriculture Committee were ready to negotiate on a Farm Bill in good faith. Instead, Republicans locked us out of the process.
The people of Oregon’s Willamette Valley deserve a say in the decisions that impact their livelihood.
President Trump and Congressional Republicans crushed our farmers and families through their reckless tariffs and cruel SNAP cuts.
Now, Republicans’ Farm Bill does little to nothing to make up for the harm they caused.
Instead of bolstering our wildland firefighting workforce through this Farm Bill, Republicans are making their job harder.
On top of illogical mandates, the Trump Admin cut Forest Service workers and greenlit ICE’s detention of firefighters.
Tell me what message that sends to our firefighters.
The people of Oregon’s Sixth District sent me to Congress to represent their needs.
Republicans’ Farm Bill does not meet those needs, nor does it meet the moment.
It should in no way be considered a bipartisan compromise.
❗️So here is the thing: the Farm Bill is NOT a bipartisan bill.
Republicans didn’t share the bill text before it was public, with this message: "This is not a negotiation."
❌ That's not how you write legislation that needs BIPARTISAN support to pass ❌
Today is #WorldWildlifeDay, and while Trump continues to threaten our country's wildlife and public lands, know that I am fighting for our environment.
That is why I introduced legislation to permanently protect our nation's untouched forests to safeguard them from Trump's destruction.
Wishing all who celebrate in Oregon a joyful and colorful Holi!
I was just at Beaverton’s Behavioral Health Court to celebrate securing them $500,000!
These federal dollars will support #Beaverton in hiring clinicians and peer support individuals to ensure that people struggling with their mental health can get the stability, support, and services they need.
