I join all Colombians in condemning the attempted assassination of Miguel Uribe Turbay and expressing hope for his recovery.

Trump sells pardons, accepts bribes, and refuses to divest from businesses.
His corruption knows no bounds.
Republicans' Agriculture funding bill caves to massive corporations.
It not only fails to lower costs – it enables even more price gouging.
It was my pleasure to join the Seminole Tribe of Florida at their Tribal Council and Board of Directors Inauguration.
It’s such an honor to represent the Seminole Tribe and its families in our nation’s capital.
The Republican Agriculture funding bill takes food off the table of hungry kids, all to give billionaires a tax break.
America is the wealthiest country on Earth. This is cruel and unnecessary.
If Republicans' Agriculture funding bill cared about fiscal responsibility, it wouldn’t rip food from pregnant women and kids to give billionaires a tax break.
It’s that simple.

ICE detentions have surged, but deportations have lagged. Over the past month, NPR spoke to dozens of detainees, families and lawyers who spoke of overcrowded facilities lacking food and medicine.
Thankful that Judi Weinstein-Haggai and Gadi Haggai’s remains were finally recovered. My heart is with their family, who can hopefully find closure after this unimaginable pain.
We must keep pushing to #BringThemAllHome.

The Republican MilCon/VA funding bill pushes lower-quality, privatized care for our Veterans & will trigger higher costs & longer wait times.
It also fails to reverse or prevent the chaos Trump & Musk unleashed on our heroes though illegal budget freezes & firings.
Trump wants to rewrite the law so he can deport more people who came here legally.
We’re pushing back in Congress—and in court. I led 54 @housedemocrats.bsky.social in an amicus brief defending TPS. I will not stop fighting to protect people from dictators like Trump and Maduro.
While Republicans ignore the cost-of-living crisis, their Agriculture and FDA bill cuts fruit and veggies for kids, hurts our farmers and makes record corporate giveaways as food prices climb.

The GOP’s MilCon/VA bill fails our veterans. It scams them out of quality medical care & lines corporate hospitals' coffers.
I’m leading the @democrats-appropriations.house.gov MilCon/VA subcommittee to protect the hard-earned services & care veterans rely on. Watch live:
I did a recent spot inspection of ICE’s Krome detention center and found inhumane, overcrowded conditions.
Worse, nearly half the detainees have no criminal record, and many received no due process. This cruelty doesn’t make us safer.
Trump needs to wake up and stop playing footsie with Putin.
And America needs to back Ukraine against this ruthless, murderous dictator.
I spoke out after conducting oversight at Krome Detention Center, where nearly half of people detained have NO criminal record.
Trump is taking away the status of legal immigrants to subject them to inhumane conditions—and then send them back to dictators.
Democrats will bring accountability for Elon Musk’s reckless actions with DOGE.
But even he knows, the Big Ugly Bill – that rips health care from millions, explodes our debt, and makes the largest ever cuts to nutrition assistance – is a “disgusting abomination.”
Today’s vote begs the question: what top tier academic leader will subject themselves to the far-right fanatics running Tallahassee?
UF is vying to be the nation’s top public research university. Installing right-wing, unqualified partisans at the helm will only delay or derail that ascent.
Republicans are breaking our promise to America’s veterans, letting DOGE cut benefits and care they earned as they fire the most veterans in American history.
