As SCOTUS prepares to hear arguments in the TikTok case, I think it’s worth mentioning again this is not a ban – it’s just changing ownership. There’s no reason one of our most powerful adversaries should have access millions of Americans’ data.

I’m thinking of all the victims of the terrible wildfires in LA, and I’m still focused on helping Southwest Virginia rebuild from Helene.
Climate change is here, and unless we get serious about taking more action, we’re going to keep facing terrible, costly disasters.
Democrats have consistently worked to bring down costs, including by capping insulin at $35/month for folks on Medicare. No senior should be deciding between groceries and the medication they need to survive – I’m glad we got this done to save our seniors’ savings.
As President Carter lies in state this week, my thoughts are with his family and all the lives he touched in his century of selfless public service. Our world is stronger for having him as a model of leadership and tireless devotion to advancing democracy and humanitarian progress across the globe.
The worst of the storm has passed, but first responders are still working to get roads completely clear and power and water restored in some parts of Virginia. Remember to stay off the roads if you can and listen to all local law enforcement!
I've been pushing hard for more sanctions against the parties that are funding the brutal conflict in Sudan. This is a welcome step forward from the Biden admin. My advocacy for the Sudanese people will continue through the end of this terrible conflict.

Thrilled to see Virginia will receive $10 million to close the digital divide in adult education. Continuing education opportunities are critical for the success of our Commonwealth, and I’m glad to see this award going to further connect and improve them. www.warner.senate.gov/public/index...
Snow is still coming down across the Commonwealth! I’m grateful to our incredible first responders and front line workers for keeping Virginians safe during these conditions. Continue following local guidance and stay off the roads if you can today!
Jan. 6 will forever serve as a reminder that democracy is not guaranteed. This year and every year, we remember and honor the sacrifices of law enforcement that kept the Capitol safe and defended democracy in 2021.
Today, Congress will certify the election results. The peaceful transfer of power is the most fundamental aspect of American democracy – I’m glad we’re not expecting violence and chaos this year.
Virginia – this weekend and into Monday, we’re expecting some winter weather. Stay alert to changing conditions, prepare your home and car, and check in on vulnerable neighbors. VDEM has some great additional insight here: www.vaemergency.gov/threats/wint...
New year, new savings brought to you by Democrats: Seniors on Medicare Part D will now have ALL their out-of-pocket prescription costs capped at $2,000 per year – saving the average Virginia senior almost $450! www.warner.senate.gov/public/index...
Thrilled to see my friend @kaine.senate.gov sworn in for another term serving Virginia. There’s no better partner, Senator, or friend.
ICYMI: We passed a significant disaster aid bill for the people of Southwest Virginia, with critical resources to help small businesses, public lands, and individuals recover. I’m still upset it took so long, but I am ready to ensure it’s implemented well.

ICYMI: We surpassed President Trump’s record and confirmed 235 highly-qualified judges under the Biden-Harris admin, including several for Virginia! Thrilled we got the Senate to work efficiently putting brilliant jurists on the bench.
Interesting turn of events: Trump called TikTok a national security risk, but now he’s asking for a stay on a congressionally-passed ban. 🤔
Today, we celebrate the rare alignment of Christmas and the first night of Hanukkah! To all celebrating across the Commonwealth, I wish you a joyous and peaceful celebration with family and loved ones, and a year ahead filled with light and warmth.
I’m proud to say that my casework team recouped over $11 MILLION this year for Virginians from the federal government.
My team is the best in the business, and I’m so proud of the work they do helping Virginians navigate the federal bureacracy.
I’m glad we averted a government shutdown and passed essential disaster aid for Southwest Virginians, but Virginians deserve more than this constant chaos. Shutdowns aren’t victimless crimes – we need to negotiate robust, bipartisan spending bills.
