Just like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream, I have a dream of the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project being across America. This program transforms the lives of countless boys; prevention, not detention. And today’s 32nd annual breakfast was such a success.
Thank you, President Biden, for showing that true justice embodies empathy and the chance for redemption.
Today’s decision only further solidifies President Biden’s legacy as one of compassion and justice and I look forward to him continuing to grant clemency in his final days.
NEWS🌊: I’m proud to be the new Ranking Member and top Democrat on the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee in Congress!
Protecting South Florida’s water and environment is key—from Key Biscayne to the Everglades, our ports and beaches. I’m ready to be a champion for it!
The 5000 Role Models of Excellence is prepared to roll out the red carpet in sunny South Florida for the first and only Black leader in any chamber of Congress, House or Senate, Hakeem Jeffries.
What a role model for the nation! What a role model for the sold out 5000 Role Models’ Breakfast!
Every Wednesday is #WearBlueWednesday because it’s time to #BringBackTheHostages and today, we heard hopeful news of a deal to bring 33 hostages home, including Americans.
I’m grateful for this progress and we must keep fighting to free the rest!
Happy Founder's Day to the Sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated!🩷💚
Today and everyday, I stand with the Israeli hostages and today is #WearBlueWednesday, so I invite all my colleagues to join me for a photo after votes to stand with the hostages because enough is enough.
I recently signed my oath of office for the 119th Congress.
I am more ready than ever to fight for the people of South Florida and the nation!
House Republicans are pushing a bill that forces girls as young as four to endure invasive questions and physical inspections of their private parts by adult strangers.
SICKENING.
How does this repulsive bill help everyday American families—like Republicans promised?
House Republicans’ BIG PLAN for Congress? $3 TRILLION IN CUTS to Medicare, Medicaid, and affordable health care—all to hand MASSIVE TAX BREAKS to BILLIONAIRES and BIG CORPORATIONS.
Helping working families? NOT EVEN CLOSE. www.politico.com/news/2025/01...
Thank you to the Miami Dolphins for your support of the 5000 Role Models of Excellence during this #NationalMentorshipMonth!
It’s all about prevention, not detention! #WeAre5000 👐🏾❤️🖤
It takes a village to raise a child. Clearly, Florida Republicans don’t care about that.
Florida Republicans have rejected funds AGAIN to feed our children during the summer. UNACCEPTABLE!
I joined Florida Congressional Democrats in condemning this move. www.wlrn.org/health/2025-...
🚨GREAT NEWS🚨
As of today, the Biden-Harris Administration has delivered $183.6 billion in student loan forgiveness for over 5 million borrowers since taking office.
Thank you, President Biden for your commitment to alleviating student loan debt.
Today marks 15 years since the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Thousands of Haitians tragically lost their lives, and my thoughts are with the Haitian community as we remember those whose lives were changed forever.
I will always stand with the Haitian community.
Congratulations to Terry and Sherria Elliott for their philanthropic accomplishments that have been felt across our community.
The 5000 Role Models of Excellence is proud to honor them at our 32nd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Breakfast. #WeAre5000 👐🏾❤️🖤
Glad to see President Biden extend TPS for Venezuelans!
Last month, I joined my colleagues in urging the President to take this important step. Today, as Maduro's illegitimate swearing-in continues to unfold, Venezuelans are finally receiving the support they deserve.
Congratulations to Role Model Alumni Alix Desulme, Mayor of the City of North Miami.
The 5000 Role Models of Excellence is proud to honor him at our 32nd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Breakfast. #WeAre5000 👐🏾❤️🖤
🚆NEWS: Brightline received a $33 million grant thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law!
As 1 of 5 co-sponsors of this legislation and a senior member of the Railroad subcommittee, I'm proud to support more sustainable, safe, and efficient travel options across our state.
🗞️NEWS: Broward will receive $17.9 million to install 20 electric vehicle charging stations!
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that I co-sponsored continues to bring bold investments, ensuring cleaner transportation for our children while creating jobs.
#InvestingInAmerica
Maduro is a cruel autocrat who should not have been sworn in today.
His arrests, repression, and relentless intimidation—both yesterday and throughout his entire reign—are nothing short of outrageous.
The Venezuelan people deserve democracy and I stand with them today. 🇻🇪
