I am here in DC, ready to reopen the government without making health care more expensive. I encourage Republicans to join me in this fight for their constituents, and for all Americans who are struggling with the rising cost of living.
Oregonians and Americans deserve better.
Republicans are supporting health care cuts that will increase costs, limit access, and create uncertainty for Oregonians and Americans, including thousands of people with disabilities. 🧵
The opening of this part of the Center for Addiction Triage and Treatments will bring critical services and hope to those seeking sobering, withdrawal, and residential treatment for substance abuse disorder.
Congratulations to Washington County on this significant and impressive milestone.
It was inspiring to celebrate the opening of Washington County's Beaverton Recovery Center with local and state leaders and community partners. 🧵
I am calling on the administration to release the funds immediately so people can get their November SNAP benefits.
Oregonians and people across the country should not go hungry because the Trump administration refuses to act. There IS a Congressionally approved contingency fund available to prevent a lapse in SNAP benefits, but Donald Trump's USDA would rather let the American people go hungry. 🧵
The violent and indiscriminate kidnapping of people off the streets without due process is abhorrent, and my office will continue to use every tool we have available to aid those affected.
Please be safe, take care of each other, and don’t hesitate to reach out to my office.
I, along with Senators Wyden and Merkley, call for his immediate release and for his return to his family and community.
Victor Cruz has a permit to work in the US and has been following the rules. He is a husband, father, grandfather, and pilar of his community. ICE took Victor not because he committed a crime but because he has the same name as someone else. 🧵
Constituents are telling me that increased healthcare costs will be devastating for themselves and their families. I am ready, willing, and able to work with Republican colleagues to reopen the government, but will not accept a budget that decimates healthcare for thousands of Oregonians.
Two years ago FEMA awarded Columbia Memorial Hospital a BRIC grant to build a new campus that will serve as a vertical evacuation structure. The Trump Administration is trying to break that promise, but I'm not giving up. This is about saving lives.
I represent the North Oregon coast, and I have long been concerned about what will happen to coastal residents when there is a tsunami. Research shows that it’s extremely difficult to outrun the deadly waves, and vertical evacuation is the best way to save lives. 🧵

LAWSUIT UPDATE RE: NATIONAL GUARD IN PORTLAND: The Ninth Circuit just paused the three-judge panel’s order on our first TRO until Tuesday so they can complete their en banc vote.
This means for now, both our TROs preventing National Guard deployment remain in effect.
I spoke with emergency medicine physician Dr. Dara Kass about the Republicans’ health care cuts and why we need to extend the ACA tax credits. It’s an economics issue. It’s a jobs issue. It’s a cost issue. For many, it’s an issue of life and death.
For the record, once again, Portland is not burning to the ground. There is no insurrection here - that was on January 6 at the US Capitol.
Millions of Americans are struggling with high costs, going hungry, and losing their health care.
And Donald Trump's “main priority” is tearing down the White House to build a massive, multi-million dollar ballroom so he can host parties for his rich friends.
REMINDER: Today, October 23rd at 2pm I will be hosting a telephone town hall meeting.
**To listen to the live audio of the town hall meeting, please go to bonamici.house.gov/live at 2pm.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
