Congratulations to my friend, my sister, and former CBC colleague—now the first Black woman elected Mayor of Oakland—Barbara Lee! A trailblazer then, now, and always. 👏🏾🌟 #MayorLee #HistoryMaker
ICYMI: I had the honor of joining THE EXCHANGE—a dynamic space where women of color gathered to share advice, wisdom, and real stories about building the lives we love. Women are the future, and I look forward to seeing what Ohio women do next. Thank you ThriveIN for hosting this important event!
Protecting the hard-earned Social Security benefits of Ohioans is a serious matter — and our seniors know that. They're ready to fight and House Democrats will stand with them to protect the benefits they deserve. #SeniorsAreSerious #SocialSecurityDayofAction
Don’t be fooled - Elon Musk and DOGE are working to cut Social Security benefits across the country. But House Dems won’t stand for it. We’re calling them out, and protecting the hard-earned benefits YOU deserve.
You heard him - seniors are serious! Today, House Dems across the country are having these critical conversations because we're serious about protecting hard-earned Social Security benefits too! #SeniorsAreSerious #SocialSecurityDayofAction
Anyone who believes in due process, and the rule of law should be outraged that President Trump is openly disregarding a Supreme Court order today. This is unacceptable and it is unconstitutional.
Last week, I was honored to accept the 2025 WELD Riveter Award from the WELD Ohio chapter. Thank you to the incredible women of WELD for paving the way and investing in women in Ohio and across the nation. You and your contributions are truly invaluable.
Earlier this week, I was thrilled to host Georgetown McCourt School students on Capitol Hill for a special study session featuring Rep. Stacey Plaskett and Rep. Jim Clyburn to discuss the current political landscape, and how legislators are working to make a difference.
Housing is a fundamental necessity, and House Democrats are working to make that a reality for hardworking Americans. Proud to have partnered with @RepGaramendi to move this legislation forward.
Today, we commemorate the Fair Housing Act of 1968, a landmark law against housing discrimination. But the fight isn’t over. That’s why @repbeatty.bsky.social and I introduced the HOME Act, which will fund new affordable housing and tackle the crisis head-on.
So proud of my #CongressionalBlackCaucus colleague @booker.senate.gov for his bold and historic stand against the Musk-MAGA hostile takeover of our democracy and the benefits it delivers to millions of Americans. Read my full statement here: bit.ly/4iRFNbO
Today, I stood in solidarity with my #CongressionalBlackCaucus colleagues to say loud and clear: Hands off our Social Security. President Trump and Elon Musk are on a mission to dismantle an earned benefit many seniors rely on. It's a sacred promise to Americans. We’re fighting to protect it!
