For nearly 50 years, Roe v. Wade protected the right to bodily autonomy. But three years ago, the Supreme Court overturned this fundamental right, putting the health and lives of women across the country at risk.

Iran must not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons, but unilateral military action, which risks embroiling the U.S. in another war in the region, should not be undertaken without Congressional authorization.
In California, we know what’s at stake. When lives are lost, when homes are destroyed, when wildfires rage, we are reminded that climate change is not abstract. It’s real. It’s personal. And it demands bold action now. #ShowYourStripes
I am fighting to advance legislation to protect our public lands and waters, strengthen wildfire resilience, defend environmental safeguards, and invest in a clean energy future.
As a member of the House Natural Resources Committee and the Sustainable Energy and Environment Coalition, I am working to combat the climate crisis.
2024 was the hottest year on record and extreme weather events continue to devastate communities nationwide. Now, more than ever, we need to address this rapidly intensifying issue with the urgency it demands.
As we celebrate the strength and resilience that have defined the Black experience in the United States, let us also recommit ourselves to the fight for true equality – today and every day.
#Juneteenth marks a pivotal moment in American history, recognizing the progress we have made as a nation and the work that still lies ahead to uphold the ideals of liberty and justice for all.

Donald Trump and Republicans are trying to steal food from hungry people to give huge tax breaks to billionaires.
@tokuda.house.gov shows just how difficult it is for thousands of Hawaiians – and millions more across the country – who rely on $6 a day from SNAP to feed their 'ohana (families).
His actions are a complete betrayal of his father’s legacy as a champion for the most vulnerable, and I urge him to reflect on how his role in this administration undermines everything his family fought and sacrificed for in the pursuit of a more just America.
Secretary Kennedy should be deeply ashamed of his complicity in this administration’s abuse and terrorization of immigrant families.
There is no question that this is a gross misuse of federal authority, a serious violation of privacy rights, and a dangerously inhumane precedent for weaponizing our health care system against vulnerable communities.
Medicaid officials attempted to block this unethical and blatantly unlawful data transfer, which exposes the immigration status of recipients and puts their lives and livelihoods at immediate risk.
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s recent decision to hand over the personal information of millions of Medicaid enrollees to ICE is a disgraceful abuse of power and a direct assault on immigrant families.

The VA must remain an apolitical agency committed to delivering the best care to all who have served. I will fight this directive and hold this administration accountable for this disgraceful insult to our veterans and their service.
Our veterans fought for every American’s freedom. Denying them care because of who they are isn’t just wrong, it is un-American.
This has absolutely nothing to do with improving care. It’s about advancing Trump’s culture wars at the expense of those who’ve sacrificed the most.
The VA has now been directed to strip long-standing anti-discrimination protections from its bylaws, allowing providers to deny care based on a veteran’s marital status or political beliefs and weakening the standards for who can be hired to care for them.
I am outraged by this administration’s continued failure to do what is right and by its egregious actions that fall short of our nation’s commitment to serve all veterans, regardless of political views, race, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs.
