A great nation is only as strong as the education of its people. The Department of Education plays a vital role in ensuring that every child – regardless of their background, where they live, or their ability – has access to a quality education.

Today's update: our Day of Action to Save Medicaid.
Every American deserves affordable, quality health care. That’s why I will never stop fighting to protect Medicaid.
This Republican scheme will rip health care away from tens of millions, drive up costs for millions more, and dismantle Medicaid for the 80 million Americans who rely on it – including over 204,000 people across #VenturaCounty and the Conejo Valley.
Donald Trump and Republicans are ramming through the largest Medicaid cut in history – nearly $1 trillion – to bankroll tax breaks for billionaires like Elon Musk and their corporate cronies.
Erasing their stories erases their courage and sacrifice. I am calling on the Trump Administration to immediately restore these pages and stop its disgraceful distortion of American history.
By order of Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth, these pages were “unpublished” to align with the administration’s shameful efforts to censor discussions of race and gender in the military. This is a direct insult to those who, despite discrimination and adversity, served with honor and distinction.
Most recently, Arlington National Cemetery quietly removed pages detailing the histories of Black, Latino, and women servicemembers laid to rest there – whitewashing historical records of their sacrifice.
The Trump Administration is once again erasing the experiences and contributions of the brave men and women who answered the call to serve.
I will continue fighting alongside House Democrats to push back against this egregious overreach of power.

No one wants a government shutdown, but we are headed into disastrous times. Republicans are determined to cede their power and oversight to Donald Trump, abandoning their duty to the American people and allowing these dangerous actions to go unchecked.
By passing this CR, Republicans weakened Congress’ power of the purse and handed greater control over taxpayer dollars to Trump and his wealthy backers – with no oversight or guardrails.
