On this day in 2007, the Fair Minimum Wage Act was signed into law, raising the federal minimum wage to $7.25 an hour.
A child born that year is now old enough to drive in 2026.
The minimum wage is *still* $7.25. It's long past time to increase it.
Memorial Day honors the servicemembers who made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives in service to our nation.
The best way we can honor them is by protecting those freedoms and never taking our democracy for granted.
While Americans are hit with skyrocketing costs caused by tariffs and a war they oppose, Donald Trump isn’t thinking about it – “not a bit.”
Instead, he’s focused on his taxpayer-funded ballroom and shielding himself from tax fraud investigations.
Americans deserve better.
I’m proud to have earned a 100% on @lcv.org’s 2025 #LCVScorecard.
As Trump and Republicans continue to unleash attacks on our climate, I'm working to enact policies that make smart investments in clean energy to protect our air, land, and water while helping lower costs.
Wishing you and your loved ones a meaningful Shavuot filled with sweetness, learning, and celebration. Chag Sameach!
Donald Trump is stealing taxpayer dollars to create a slush fund that would give handouts to his loyal supporters.
It’s blatant corruption, and we’re fighting it in court. I joined my colleagues in filing a motion to block this outrageous self-dealing settlement.

House passage of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is indeed a big win for affordable housing. Amid the affordability crisis, Congress should do all it can to lower prices and address kitchen table issues for American families. This is a big step:

Donald Trump gets elected and he gets:
▪️ $2.6 billion (and counting) in cash and gifts
▪️ A ballroom
▪️ An arch
▪️ Over $3 billion in pardons to his allies
▪️ A $1.8 billion slush fund for J6ers and his friends
▪️ A lifetime free pass on taxes for himself, his family, and his companies
Appreciate our local @momsdemandaction.org leadership on seeking solutions to gun violence, now and always!
Incredible and unprecedented corruption right out in the open.

FLASH: DOJ expands settlement in Trump-IRS leak suit to cover audits of all tax returns filed by Trump, family members, companies and trusts. Waiver of IRS' claims contained in addendum signed by AAG Blanche that was not in agreement released Monday www.politico.com/news/2026/05...
Trump had his personal lawyer, who he installed atop the Justice Department, give him a get-out-of-jail-free card for past, present, and future tax fraud.
Stealing taxpayer money and covering up future financial crimes for himself and his family at the same time.
Following last year's tragic midair collision and additional reports of near misses between military and commercial aircraft in DCA airspace, we're asking that @USGAO examine broader systemic issues related to Army aviation safety practices.
With @repsuhas.bsky.social:
Every person in this country has the right to pray and worship safely and freely. Religious hatred and intolerance have no place in America.
My thoughts are with the Muslim American community, who continue to face the growing threat of Islamophobia. It is heartbreaking that so many Americans no longer feel safe gathering in their communities, attending their houses of worship, or sending their children to school or day care.
I send my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed, and to everyone grieving yesterday’s horrific act of violence at the Islamic Center of San Diego. I also recognize the courage of security personnel and first responders, whose actions helped prevent greater tragedy.

My office and I are aware of the active shooter situation at the Islamic Center of San Diego. We don't have any details about a potential motive yet, but I'm devastated for those students, worshippers, and the Clairemont community. Everyone should be able to pray, worship, and learn in peace.
Trump's slush fund would give nearly $2 BILLION in taxpayer dollars to his supporters, including violent criminals.
He's just stealing your money.
There's no transparency, we won't know who gets paid, or how much.
It's illegal and corrupt as hell. We're fighting it in court.

BREAKING: 93 House Democrats have filed a motion to block Trump’s self-dealing settlement in his sham $10 billion IRS lawsuit, which would create a $1.7 billion slush fund for Jan. 6 rioters and political allies.
