Republicans REJECTED my amendment to show how their Big, Ugly Bill spikes your energy bills. They don’t want you to know the truth: gutting clean energy tax credits means higher costs for families.

My statement on President Trump's illegal plans to deploy the National Guard to Chicago:
The Trump administration is still withholding $4 billion in education funding from schools across the country. Those are critical resources to support teachers, fund mental health programs, and help schools rebuild their infrastructure. They must be released.
Access to health care is a top issue for folks living in rural areas. It was great to see local health providers on the ground at the Farm Progress Show last week to help community members get connected with important resources - especially for mental health.
My team was honored to attend the grand opening of the new VA primary care clinic at Scott Air Force Base! This new facility will ensure that veterans in St. Louis and the Metro East have access to the high-quality care they deserve.
Happy Labor Day #IL13! Today, we celebrate the labor movement and the hardworking men and women who built this country. From firefighters, teachers, and nurses to steelworkers, electricians, and truck drivers, working people — not billionaires – keep America running.
Downsizing the Springfield Processing and Distribution Center and consolidating it with St. Louis will worsen delivery rates and hurt postal employees here in Springfield. I’m calling on Postmaster General Steiner to halt this misguided plan.
It is imperative that we surge food, infant formula, and medical supplies to prevent even more death and suffering in Gaza. We are demanding that Secretary Rubio does everything possible to lift the blockade and help the children who are starving.

It is deeply concerning that a number of top CDC officials have been pushed out of their roles by RFK Jr. and President Trump. The CDC is essential to protecting our public health and we can’t let this agency become politicized.
Registered apprenticeships are a proven way to get folks connected with good-paying union jobs and to fill in-demand roles. I’m proud to join my @LaborCaucus.house.gov colleagues to call on the Secretary of Labor to prioritize registered apprenticeships in her upcoming workforce development plan.
Back-to-school season is more expensive than ever this year thanks to President Trump’s tariffs and sky-rocketing inflation. From lunches to school supplies, families are feeling the squeeze – and as Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill takes effect, those costs will get even higher.
On this day in 1963, more than a quarter million people marched with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., to call for civil rights and economic opportunity. Today, we honor the legacy of civil rights leaders like Dr. King and the countless brave Americans who stood up to demand a more just and equal future.
It’s one of my favorite times of year when IL-13 hosts the Farm Progress Show in Decatur! I’m proud to show off America's ag-tech corridor right here in Central and Southern Illinois.
The Big, Ugly Bill gives billionaires and big corporations huge tax breaks on the backs of everyday Americans who are desperate for relief from high costs. From college students, to working parents, to retirees, this law will make life harder and more expensive for millions.
I am praying for the families affected by the horrific shooting at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis this morning. No one — especially not our children — should fear for their lives in school or in a place of worship.
Huge thank you to my friend @repshontelbrown.bsky.social for joining my Ag Advisory Council meeting! As Vice Ranking Member of the House Agriculture Committee, it was great to host her in Decatur and hear firsthand the concerns our farmers in IL are facing.
Each year, #IL13 is proud to welcome growers and producers from across the country to the Farm Progress Show in Decatur! With the University of Illinois College of ACES at its heart, Central and Southern Illinois leads the way in ag innovation. It was great to see some of that work up close today.
It was great to join Mike and Max for a bipartisan panel on the Farm Bill, biofuels, ag research, and much more! Check out our conversation here:
Happy Women’s Equality Day! As a member of the Democratic Women's Caucus, I’m fighting everyday to restore reproductive freedom, close the gender wage gap, and achieve women’s equality in every area of life.
St. Louis is an essential partner to communities here in #IL13. It was great to meet with Mayor Cara Spencer to talk about how we can keep working together on behalf of our constituents!
