When families are picking up the pieces after a wildfire, they don’t need Uncle Sam taking a cut of their relief. My bipartisan bill makes sure wildfire survivors aren’t taxed on the funds they are relying on to rebuild their lives and homes. Learn more ⬇️
Oregon, today is National Voter Registration Day! Every voice matters, and every vote counts – be sure that when the time comes, you’re ready to use yours. You can check your registration or register to vote here: sos.oregon.gov/voting/Pages...
I’ve had dozens of constituents write in to tell me they’ve been turned away when trying to get vaccines. RFK Jr is spewing nonsense, ignoring science, and putting our communities at risk. It has to stop.
On Friday, the President claimed that “we have almost no inflation anymore.” That’s just not true.  In fact, last month, inflation was the highest it’s been since January. Oregonians can’t afford his chaotic policies. We need lower prices now.  www.cnn.com/2025/09/12/b...
Last weekend, we wrapped up the Give ‘Em Hell tour out in Silverton. Thank you to every single one of you who took time out of your day to join me and share your stories.  I’ll be hosting more soon, so stay tuned!
Credit unions go the extra mile to help their members get what they need and to support their local community. I was glad to speak with members of the America’s Credit Union Caucus, and to thank them for stepping up where others don’t.
This week, I joined a discussion about how we can work together to increase access to childcare. We can’t make our families choose between quality care for their children and putting food on the table. Our kids – and parents – deserve better.
The Trump administration’s cuts to funding for children’s disability programs in rural Oregon are going to leave thousands without support they’ve relied on for years. Our kids deserve so much better. Thats why I’m demanding the funding is restored. www.opb.org/article/2025...
Last week, the Trump administration canceled funding for the Central Oregon Disability Support Network. This loss of funding means less access to opportunities for kids, and less support for parents. I'm demanding the funding be restored – it's what Oregon families deserve.
When families are trying to rebuild after a wildfire, they don’t need Uncle Sam taking a cut of their relief. So I’m introducing a bipartisan bill to protect these funds from being taxed. Help picking up the pieces shouldn’t come with strings attached.
Today, we remember the lives we lost on 9/11 and the heroes who responded with courage and sacrifice. I am praying for those who lost a loved one on this day 24 years ago – everyone is somebody’s someone. We will never forget them or their stories.
I strongly support our military and our servicemembers, but Republicans’ defense funding bill put politics over national security. I voted no. My full statement ⬇️
A top concern I continue to hear from my constituents at my town halls is access to healthcare. We need to make sure that everyone can get the care they need where and when they need it, and without breaking the bank.
Access to safe and reliable transportation and routes = FREEDOM. That’s why I spoke with Oregon transit representatives to discuss ongoing needs in our district and ways I will continue to fight to bring funding home for projects in CD5.
As we make our way through wildfire season, it’s important that we mitigate risk as much as possible. I stand ready to work with our partners on the ground to make sure they have everything they need to keep our communities safe.
We haven’t asked for the President to send the National Guard to Portland. In fact, none of the cities he’s deploying them to have asked for it. It’s an abuse of power, and it needs to stop.
