If the government shuts down tonight, it’s because Republicans chose higher premiums for 20 million Americans over working with Democrats.
This #WorldContraceptionDay, the Trump admin is planning to destroy $10M in taxpayer-funded contraceptives. I recently co-led a letter demanding an investigation. As Chair of @reprocaucus.bsky.social Contraception Task Force, I'll always fight for access to birth control at home & abroad.
Today I joined patients and providers at the Wesley Health Center in Pasadena to hear how Trump's health care cuts are hurting them. In CA-28, 61k people face crushing premium hikes if Trump & Republicans shut down the government instead of protecting Americans' ACA tax credits.
He stripped health care from 15 million people. He’s threatening a shutdown so he can end the ACA tax credits that lower costs for millions more. Now he’s slamming Americans with higher costs on medicine, furniture, and trucks. Every part of his agenda means middle-class Americans pay more.
President Trump announced a slew of new tariffs on pharmaceuticals, heavy trucks, kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities and upholstered furniture.
Trump is rigging congressional maps. That’s why I joined my California colleagues to introduce the Redistricting Reform Act of 2025 — to guarantee nonpartisan, independent redistricting nationwide. Because in the U.S., voters choose their representatives, not the other way around.
#HappyPublicLandsDay! Today, I celebrate the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument, where millions of Angelenos can hike, explore, and connect with nature close to home. I’ll keep fighting to protect our public lands so everyone can enjoy their beauty for generations to come!
I voted to condemn the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk and call on all Americans to reject political violence. My vote is not an endorsement of Kirk’s views, but a firm rejection of the rising political violence in our country that we must all reject, regardless of ideology.
Congress must not abandon disaster survivors. That’s why @repbradsherman.bsky.social and I sent a letter today pressing Speaker Johnson & Leader Thune to include, in any federal funding bill, supplemental disaster relief for California fire victims and communities across America.
In CA-28, we proudly embrace our Latino & Hispanic community. During times when they face unfair targeting, it’s especially important that we honor and recognize the countless contributions they have made to enrich and strengthen our country. #HappyHispanicHeritageMonth
But no one should be held in these conditions with no explanation while being denied due process. We must hold ICE and Donald Trump accountable and demand humane treatment for all in custody.
I advocated continuously for his release, and I’m grateful he is finally home with his wife, the chief of medical staff at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena.
When I toured this facility with my colleagues in Congress, ICE officials tried to assure us that conditions were good. But Rami’s firsthand account tells a different story: sleeping on concrete floors, little food, no medical care.
Trump’s sabotage is slowing our economy and blocking investments in medical research, health care, infrastructure, schools, and more. That's why I'm cosponsoring the Congressional Power of the Purse Act to stop his illegal power grab and protect the investments our communities are owed.
NEW: Ranking Member @congressmanboyle.bsky.social and every Budget Democrat are taking a stand against Trump's abuses of power. The Congressional Power of the Purse Act will fight back against Trump's power grab and ensure the American people get the vital services they were promised.
STOP TRUMP'S POWER GRAB
PASS THE CONGRESSIONAL POWER OF THE PURSE ACT
No one deserves to be the target of gun violence, ever. What happened to Charlie Kirk is appalling, unacceptable, and I condemn it in the strongest possible terms. I am thinking of his family and loved ones at this time. We must put a stop to rising political violence in this country.
Thanks to the brilliant experts @nasajpl.bsky.social in Pasadena for making this amazing discovery of potential life on Mars possible! But we can't know for sure unless we bring these rocks to Earth for study. I'll keep fighting to fully fund the Mars Sample Return mission to do just that.
Breaking news: NASA’s Perseverance rover came across some rocks on Mars that might be evidence of past life on the dusty planet. The findings amount to one of the strongest signs yet of ancient Martian life.
