While President Trump illegally pauses federal funding from Congress, the Senate must not be business as usual.
We do not consent to this lawless power grab.
President Trump has ordered a wide freeze on federal funding - meaning that small business loans, VA housing, & billions of dollars for our schools could all be in jeopardy.
This policy will hurt people’s lives and our economy.
Republican politicians know this but are too scared to say anything.

Rampell: Do it right now on TV! If you think it’s a normal way to greet people, do it right now on TV. Why won’t you?!

My 7yo heard me say the federal funding freeze may impact school lunch.
Her district provides free meals for all students. She has multiple food allergies, and she receives safe foods every day.
This funding freeze is monstrous and illegal @joaquincastrotx.bsky.social.

Important news for San Antonio retirees:
Last year, I helped pass the Social Security Fairness Act to close unfair loopholes that stopped teachers, first responders, and other public servants from getting the full Social Security benefits they earned. 1/

If Trump fully adopts his deportation proposals, inflation would soar and labor-intensive industries such as agriculture and construction would struggle to find workers.

SAN ANTONIO — As President Trump’s mass deportation of unauthorized immigrants is ramping up, a question many have is: How will this impact American farms? And that is also a question that farmers are asking.

Senior ICE officials have been ordered by Trump officials to “aggressively ramp up the number of people they arrest, from a few hundred per day to at least 1,200 to 1,500” b/c Trump is “disappointed with the results of his mass deportation campaign so far.”

Trump’s trade wars will raise grocery prices in Texas and across the country.
But Trump and his cabinet of billionaires won’t feel it so they don’t care what happens to everyone else. #TrumpTradeWars

Donald Trump fired 12+ agency watchdogs who protect taxpayers from waste, fraud & abuse.
He’s required by law to say why. He hasn’t.
Why is Donald Trump eliminating people in charge of stopping government overreach in the middle of the night?
I think you can guess why…

ICYMI:
Trump's late-night purge of 17 independent Inspectors General who serve as watchdogs against government waste, fraud, and abuse just furthers his dismantling of any checks and balances system.

This is Carolyn Edwards. She was one of the first officers attacked and knocked out on January 6th. She bravely testified before the January 6th committee. She is one of the bravest people I know and she deserves better. (She posted this publicly on her FB page which is why I'm sharing publicly)

I'd like to remind Donald Trump that the United States became the most powerful, most prosperous nation on earth not in spite of immigrants, but because of them.
Proud to stand with my Congressional Hispanic Caucus colleagues this week in defense of immigrant families.
