Wendy Vega Lores is free! Thank you to everyone who raised their voice and didn’t let up. Young people who call America home deserve to go through the immigration process and have the chance to pursue their passions, like Wendy’s dream to become a doctor.
Hayam El Gamal and her five children are set to return home after being locked away at the Dilley trailer prison for nearly a year.
The judge’s order for release came earlier today. I have witnessed first-hand families being released within an hour. ICE should release the family immediately.
Early this morning, she won her case to be released. ICE must free Wendy immediately. She should be with her family and pursuing her dreams.
Wendy Vega Lores dreams of becoming a pediatrician. She finished high school in two years and began intensive prep to become a doctor.
She has a pending asylum case. On her 19th birthday, ICE detained her anyway. She has been locked away for 10 months.
In Texas, I'm pushing to stop any border wall from cutting through Big Bend National Park. This would disrupt communities, wildlife, and forever change the landscape of one of our Texas landmarks.
Happy Earth Day! Today we celebrate our progress and renew our commitment to protect this place we all call home.
ICE is running a for profit industry and locking up people like DACA recipient Juan Velasco and Doctor Ezequiel Véliz. We've seen ICE detain, deport, and kill U.S. citizens.
I am voting NO on the shutdown deal. ICE does not deserve another taxpayer dollar. youtu.be/Tn9qwcgHdrQ?...
Their stay, the longest under the second Trump Administration, is coming to an end. ICE must not delay and release the family immediately. #FreeOurChilden
The El Gamal family will be released! Today, a federal judge ordered the end of their imprisonment at the Dilley trailer prison. They had been suffering at Dilley for nearly a year—the mother was rushed to the hospital last week and the five-year old daughter had been denied dental care.
Thank you to the City of Leon Valley for hosting and the Houston Passport Office for making sure the event went smoothly.
The Passport Fair in San Antonio this past weekend was a huge success! We were able to help more than 1,100 people receive one-on-one support for their passport needs. I am glad to see San Antonians accessing this important resource.
I look forward to continuing working with partners on both sides of the border to strengthen our national security and grow the economy in San Antonio and across the country.
Our economy benefits from our strong partnerships with Mexico and Canada.
At the North Capital Meridian Diplomacy Forum, we discussed tackling trade challenges and addressing threats from arms trafficking to trade wars.
My San Antonio office had the honor of working with her to serve our seniors and support small businesses. Her strong will and faith will not be forgotten. May she rest in peace.
Throughout her remarkable career, she touched the lives of so many. Even as she battled cancer, she remained committed to her work.
San Antonio recently lost Jane Gonzalez, who was a champion for seniors and people in need in our city. She founded MedWheels in 2005 to make sure San Antonio seniors had access to important equipment like wheelchairs and walkers.
Trump’s mass deportation campaign isn’t going after the worst of the worst. It’s targeting contributing members of our communities and breaking apart families.
Meenu Batra is the only Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu court interpreter in Texas. She had spent most of her life in Texas, working and raising her kids. ICE detained her despite having humanitarian protection.
The week in DC: FISA 702, Iran War Powers Resolution, ICE Director Resigns.

As Military City, USA, my hometown understands very well the stakes and costs of war. I won’t vote to send another generation of American women and men from San Antonio or anywhere to fight in another 20 year, trillion dollar war in the Middle East.
