Last night, I hosted my first town hall of this Congress in El Monte. Thank you to the residents of CA-31 who showed up, voiced your concerns, and engaged in meaningful dialogue.
Jackie Robinson is an American hero, not only for his service, but for all he did for civil rights and to fight back against racism and segregation. Wiping away his military service in order to placate the President's racist crusade against DEI is an utter disgrace.

Transgender servicemembers have a right to their dignity and a right to serve. This preliminary injunction is the right move to halt the President's bigoted executive order.

Trump and Speaker Johnson can lie all they want, but they are who we thought they were. Their disastrous budget makes massive cuts to Medicare and prioritizes tax breaks for billionaires over the health of everyday Americans.
Elon and Trump have been so busy trying to run our government like a business -- and a bad business at that -- they've managed to tank our economy at the expense of real Americans and American businesses.

You cannot tell the full history of WWII without telling the story of the Native American Code Talkers. The Trump Administration's racist attempts to whitewash our military history is a disservice to our veterans and fallen heroes.

I'm disappointed with the Senate Dems who supported this fake CR. Trump and Shadow President Musk now have a blank checkbook and can keep destroying the federal government. This wasn't about a government shutdown, it was about stopping the chaos that Trump and Washington Republicans are creating.
Trump and Elon's firings are a sham. I encourage all fired government employees to reach out to their agency's HR and ask for a status update and to be reinstated.

It wasn't enough for Trump and Washington Republicans to go after school lunches. Now they want to dismantle programs for special education, civil rights, and school safety at the Dept of Ed. It's reprehensible that they continue to rip away investments in our kids.

Trump turning the White House lawn into a commercial for Tesla was embarrassing and beneath the office of the Presidency. Musk and Trump have shown the American people exactly who they really are.

I am still in DC and I am ready to support a temporary CR as long as Republicans are willing to come to the table and work on a bipartisan funding bill that will benefit CA-31 and the American people. Let’s get this done.
Mark Kelly is an American Hero who has taken an oath to defend our country and constitution as a Naval Aviator, Astronaut and a Senator. What oath as Musk taken? Nothing but a shadow president out to ruin the country for his own benefit.

Hate has no home in Southern California. I stand with @bapslosangeles and condemn the vandalism of their temple.
This week I joined my democratic colleagues to introduce the PRO Act, to ensure workers have the right to form a union and negotiate for better wages and benefits. Meanwhile, Elon and Trump keep showing us that they could care less about American workers. newrepublic.com/post/192409/...
President Trump's tariffs are a tax on the American people, plain and simple. Grocery costs will go up. Housing costs will go up. Even liquor and beer prices will go up. We need to make sure every American knows that Trump isn’t looking out for them.

Shadow President Musk and Trump have never served a cause greater than their own pocket books. They have never made the sacrifices our veterans have made to secure a better future for others. Cutting these jobs from the VA will harm our nation's heroes and their families. apnews.com/article/vete...
Sylvester Turner, part of my Freshman class from Houston, passed away last night. He was a good man who dedicated his life to public service as a Texas state legislator and as the Mayor of Houston. He had a good soul and will be missed by his colleagues, family, and friends. Rest in peace.
I spoke out last night because that was 100 mins of B.S.
Meanwhile in the real world, the President's tariffs are tanking our economy and making life harder for everyday Americans.
My guest for tonight's SOTU is West Covina City Councilman Ollie Cantos. He served at the U.S. Department of Education, but he was placed on leave due to Elon Musk’s DOGE cuts. I hope his presence reminds Trump and Musk that their contempt for our country’s civil servants is harming American lives.

Alignment stats consider only votes where a clear yes/no majority existed for the legislator's party. Cross-party marks divergence where the vote matched the opposite party majority. ↔ indicates cross-party divergence.
