I am deeply concerned by Trump & Elon’s illegal targeting of federal employees. Public servants keep our country running and I’ll always stand up for them. If you're a federal employee in Colorado impacted by these attacks, these resources from CDLE may be helpful to you.
Every year, I have the privilege of nominating students from Denver to attend one of our nation's esteemed military service academies. This week, I celebrated this year’s nominees as they aspire to serve our country. I have no doubt they’ll make Denver proud wherever they go.
Medicaid is a lifeline for millions—including thousands right here in Denver. Today, I hosted a roundtable with health care institutions & advocates to hear firsthand how the GOP's cuts could devastate Denver's most vulnerable patients. Together, we'll ensure everyone gets the care they deserve.
🚨 TONIGHT: I’m hosting a tele-town hall to discuss the Trump administration’s extreme actions, Elon Musk’s shadow presidency, & how I am fighting back. I’ll be answering the questions you and your neighbors have about what is going on. ☎️ When: 6:00 pm MT 📍 Where: Tune in at buff.ly/41jmCBy
I just sent a letter to the NIH urging them to reverse their devastating funding cuts to health care institutions & research facilities. As the lead Democrat on the Health Subcommittee, I’m demanding answers for the American people and the institutions they depend on.
As the top Democrat on the Health Subcommittee, I’m fighting to keep care accessible and affordable and to protect institutions like the CDC, CU Anschutz, and Denver Health. Senate Republicans may have let RFK Jr. slide—but I won’t.
Throughout his confirmation, it was clear that RFK Jr.’s views on public health, including vaccines, reproductive rights, & core health programs, were dangerous. I’ll work with HHS to expand care and protect Medicare & Medicaid. But I won’t let his inexperience and extremism put Americans at risk.
🚨 Honored to join the Litigation Working Group to investigate Trump and Musk’s illegal efforts to dismantle our government from within. Their attacks on federal agencies won’t go unchecked—we will hold them accountable.
Elon Musk spent nearly $300 million on the election to become the most powerful man in Washington, and now the State Department is going to give him $400 million for armored Tesla cars. Sounds like waste, fraud, and abuse to me.
Donald Trump promised to bring down inflation & costs on day one. Instead, inflation is up. Egg prices are up. And the cost of living continues to rise. Trump and Republicans need to stop working overtime to make the rich richer and get serious about supporting hardworking families.
House Republicans just released a budget proposal that would gut Medicaid and food stamps to pay for $4.5 trillion (or more!) in tax cuts for billionaires. That’s on top of adding $3.3 trillion to the deficit. So much for fiscal responsibility.
Glad to meet with EPA employees from the Denver region this afternoon. Their work is critical to ensuring we all breathe clean air & drink clean water. I’ll always fight to ensure they—and federal employees everywhere—can keep doing their jobs, no matter Trump’s attempts to gut these vital agencies.
Russell Vought, an Elon crony & acting CFPB director, has shut down the agency—jeopardizing our progress on everything from junk fees to medical debt to credit reports. The CFPB is supposed to have your back. Now, every American is vulnerable—all to help Trump and his corruptor-in-chief, Elon.
🚨 A federal judge just ruled that the Trump administration is violating his order to lift the unconstitutional blanket spending freeze. The courts are working to stop Trump’s illegal actions, and I’ll keep pushing to hold this administration accountable.
NEW: A federal judge ruled Monday that the Trump administration was violating his order to lift the blanket spending freeze on federal programs, ordering immediate release of funds and hinting at possibility of contempt. www.politico.com/news/2025/02...
🚨 Overnight, a federal judge blocked Elon Musk and DOGE from accessing any sensitive Treasury payment records. This will help protect your data and keep it out of the hands of unelected and unqualified DOGE staff.
NEWS: A federal judge issued a sweeping overnight block on Musk's DOGE team from accessing Treasury's payment system, warning of possible hacks or compromises. His order limits access only to officials w security clearances/training/need-to-know. www.politico.com/news/2025/02...
By blocking access to President Musk’s financial disclosures, this government continues to be for billionaires, and by billionaires. This is corruption in plain sight.
