I knew her since she was a baby, and Lisa and Jim McGovern have been close friends for decades. Molly was always kind, thoughtful, caring, brave, courageous, and helping others.

I would like to share a project that means something to me. Molly McGovern was 23 when she passed away last month unexpectedly. She had fought a rare form of cancer bravely and had been in remission.

Spoke at the Mother’s Day Time to Teal and Fun Run to raise awareness and funds for ovarian cancer research. Grateful to the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance for their vital work and to everyone who came out to show their support.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers in Michigan!
As a @demwomencaucus.bsky.social member, today is about more than flowers and sweets — it’s about fighting for moms and their ability to care for their children.

Thanks to Jason Winston George for joining the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force meeting to talk about the importance of responsible gun use in TV and film.
I always enjoy meeting kids who care and are engaged on important issues. Thank you to Beach Middle School from Chelsea for letting me hang out.
Some of my favorite questions:
➡️Why did you get into politics?
➡️What do you stand for?
➡️Where is your outfit from?
The Republican budget would leave families, children, seniors, people with disabilities, and everyone else who depends on Medicaid out in the cold by stripping them of their health coverage.
We will not stop fighting for Medicaid and the millions of Americans who rely on it.
Public lands belong to all Americans, not corporations.
Joined my colleagues in launching the bipartisan Public Lands Caucus to protect our precious natural resources, federal lands, and beloved species.
Our veterans deserve the best care possible. Met with the Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins to discuss how we can ensure veterans across Michigan have access to the resources and support they’ve earned, including protecting their medical care.
Your voice matters. It is making a difference for women across the country.
Proud to join
@nbccstopbc.bsky.social in the fight to end breast cancer.
A special thanks to NBCC President and an old friend, Fran Visco, who has been by my side in this fight since the beginning.
I’m fighting to protect Medicaid and food assistance for the people in my district who count on these programs to meet their basic needs. That’s why I signed a discharge petition to force an up-or-down vote on the Hands Off Medicaid and SNAP Act.
Congrats to Chanyoung Kim, our 2025 Congressional Art Competition winner, a junior from Novi. I’m impressed by the talent displayed in this year's submissions and extend a special thanks to our teachers who encourage students to participate and foster an appreciation for the arts through education.
Trump’s budget would hurt working people by slashing funding for education, clean drinking water, energy assistance, and housing support for seniors and people with disabilities. These programs aren’t waste, fraud, or abuse—they’re lifelines for countless Michiganders.

Proud to stand with @aflcio.org and workers during the May Day Rally in Detroit, showing solidarity and unwavering support for workers' rights everywhere.
Federal funding for public broadcasting is an irreplaceable investment in local communities. I will continue to fight strongly against these cuts and hope listeners in communities served by these invaluable services will also make their voices heard.
Joined the National Day of Prayer event in Flat Rock. Was in good company with Mayor Beller, Boy Scouts, and religious leaders of many faiths.
It’s okay to not be okay. 1 in 5 adults in the United States experiences mental health challenges and during Mental Health Awareness Month, we recommit ourselves to ending the stigma and choosing hope.
