24 million Americans are about to see a shutdown of their health care. 2 million Pennsylvanians are about to lose their SNAP benefits. Federal workers are missing their paychecks. But right now- “the ballroom is really the president’s main priority.”
Americans just want to be able to afford their health care and put food on the table. Meanwhile Trump is demolishing the White House to build a ballroom, signing some merch, and giving a $20 billion bailout to his right-wing crony in Argentina.

Hey #Philly! If you're voting by mail in the upcoming election here are some important reminders: 📬Apply for a mail-in ballot by Tuesday, 10/28 🖊️Carefully read the instructions and complete the front & back of the ballot 🗳️Make sure your ballot is received by 8 PM on Election Day, 11/4
Thanks to Republicans’ massive ACA & Medicaid cuts, hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians are going to see a shutdown of their health care. As one Pennsylvanian said: it’s “going to be catastrophic." This is why I’m fighting alongside fellow House Dems to protect access to affordable health care.
If you are already seeing your health care premiums increasing- I want to hear from you! Share your health care story with my office here: evans.house.gov/story
As a Philly small business owner told my office: “I’m stuck between a rock and an even harder rock.” Millions of small business owners and employees rely on the ACA Marketplace for affordable health care. Their health care costs will skyrocket if Republicans fail to extend these tax credits.
Graphic with Philadelphia skyline and quote: “As a small business owner, subsidies were the only way I could afford healthcare. The risk of losing the subsidy is daunting enough. My premium is about to triple. I'm considering closing up shop to get a 9-5 with benefits but the job market is abysmal. I'm stuck between a rock and an even harder rock.”
The House can't act on this or ANY of the bills my colleagues have proposed until House Republicans end their 33-day paid vacation! The House hasn't even passed 9 of the 12 yearly appropriations bills - we DO have work to do in Washington. #GOPShutdown
INBOX: @RepMackenzie introduced the Shutdown Fairness Act to pay federal employees and armed services members who are required to work during government shutdowns.

“This bill stands up for those who show up — paying federal workers what we owe them, shutdown or not.”

If Speaker Johnson brought the House back to Washington, House Republicans could also spend the afternoon lunching at the White House and getting some free merch instead of *actually* working to end the looming shutdown of health coverage for 24 million Americans! 📸: @andrewdesiderio.bsky.social

Even Leader Thune agrees- it’s far past time for Speaker Johnson to end House Republicans’ 32-day paid vacation and get the House back to work for the American people. The House hasn’t even passed its version of 9 of the 12 yearly government funding bills! #GOPShutdown
